Debbie Downer, as predictable as ever after a great victory. Tear down the coach responsible for it with "bullet points." With all respect due, can't you find a better, more personal use for your bullets? No thanks needed for my advice. Just don't make a mess, please. ;-D-

I've met a few ball players. Some I wish I hadn't (Damon Jones is an *******, Franchise literally thinks he built the franchise). Some are just what you imagined, Cassel is as funny as you think he would be and Chuck is just what he seems. Just a cool dude.

The management knows his worth and Chuck has let them know he doesn't want to be anywhere else (one of the few Rockets that actually stay mostly in Houston during the offseason). But Daryl can't break his rule of not extending during the season. I hope they work it out, if not. I'll be one disappointed fan.

Since Clyde retired a Rocket, Rick should too. Dump Brad Miller though, trade him to Cleveland.

I would keep Chuck Hayes just because he has A LOT of things he could teach our young guns.

Of course the best passer off the high post on our team is Miller, but Hayes is definitely improving a lot.

RA has coached a lot of great passing big men during his tenure. I wonder if Hayes is a product of RA's system or if RA just so happens to always work with great big men passers.

Sorry you spouted off false narratives without doing your research bro. I commended today's win in the official thread well before your post:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6024238&postcount=117

Also sorry that you can't keep this thread on topic bro. The discussion of today's win is located in the aforementioned thread. This thread is only about the topic of offering extensions to Chuck Hayes and Rick Adelman. If you think a single game performance has bearing on that topic, well, let's just be glad you're not GM. Regardless, the Rockets won in spite of Adelman rather than because of him.

Now, who will be the next to attempt to contradict me only to be publicly shamed by my posting prowess?

Adelman is the ONLY reason the Rockets are playing with the confidence of a contender. LIf you look at the roster, there's absolutely no way we should be anywhere near 500. let alone fighting for playoff position. Adelman deserves an extension more than any coach in the league and Les is making a HUGE mistake not resigning him. There's absolutely no argument in not keeping Adelman

I don't think it's fair to Rick to bring him back if we are rebuilding. He came here for a title.

The only reason? Bullshhhhhit. Our guys are playing their asses off. Not taking anything away from Rick but give the guys some credit. Our roster is definitely good enough for .500 or better basketball. At least 2 deep at every position except Center. A lot of our bench players would be starters on other teams. If you don't think our roster isn't good enough for. 500 ball, then you don't know basketball.

chuck should be re-signed eventually but RA is uncertain. read somewhere its not we do not want to sign him, its a matter of him wanting to retire or coach a championship calibre team while we are still in rebuilding mode. RA came here knowing he had Yao and Tmac to work with and both are now gone. i think its a 2way situation. i think RA is a great coach and i hope he wants to stay and they can sign him on but if he wants to leave, i would suggest promoting Elston Turner to head coach, he would be a perfect coach for a rebuilding team and he already knows the team so well as well as all the offensive and defensive plays. not so sure how much respect the players give him though. he did got a few interviews for a head coaching job in recent times, the last i could recall was Minnesota and Rambis got that job.

    >Asked about Alexander's comments, Adelman began by saying: "Let's clarify a couple of things. When I was asked about what I was going to do in the future, I wasn't asked about any contract decision from the Rockets. Nothing's been said to me about the Rockets or from the team or anything. If my contract ran out, it was asked if I wanted to keep coaching, and I said, well, I'm going to have to sit down and think about that.

Sounds to me like the situation Morey said Battier has to be trade away because he knew Shane won't sign with Rockets next season.
While Morey is the one refuse to give extension to Shane.

It is another form of blaming game.

Is that really a bad thing?

Next season is probably going to be short season anyways(due to lock out) and the 2012 NBA Draft is supposed to be a very strong one. The Rockets can have three picks in a strong draft(if they miss the playoffs), It could be a chance to turn our franchise around, and get out of this mediocrity.

Plus Adelman is an expensive coach, and the rockets are a developing team. No reason to have a coach at that price tag, if the Rockets aren't even close to contending.

Also, If Adelman doesn't retire, he will probably receive offers from The Celtics (if they lose Rivers), Los Angeles Lakers(Jackson retiring) and Miami Heat. Places that are a lot more appealing than the Rockets current situation.

On extending Chuck Hayes's contract: I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but there is no way that CHUCK would agree to an extension right now. Not under the current CBA rules.

I'm not going to pretend to have known this off the top of my head (I had to look this up), but . . .

    http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q52

Basically, if Chuck were to agree to an extension now, his salary next season would be limited to about $2.2M and would at no point in that contract make much more than $3M in a season. He could easily make more than that on the open market, even under the new CBA.

If Chuck were willing to take that deal, I bet Morey makes that offer YESTERDAY ("no extensions" policy be damned).
