This thread is completely irrelevant... all the quotes were from last season or before Brooks got injured this season. Yes, Lowry has gotten better. But at the TIME when Brooks was at his best, and Lowry was shooting poorly, Brooks was the better player, which is why he was starting. He only got traded because he never fully recovered from the injury, and then began throwing a hissy fit. Not to mention, Lowry has become a much better player between now and then.

I'm just going to give AB the benefit of the doubt just for this season because that injury really threw him off. It happens to a lot of other players as well, like KG 2 years ago. It's all about how he bounces back the next season.

KG has size and defense to fall back on. When Brook's quickness fades, and his jumpshot isn't falling, he aint worth jack except a bunch of turnovers and poor decisions.

I wasn't really comparing KG and Brooks. The point I was making was that KG got injured and wasn't playing up to his potential at all, which is why the Celtics didn't make it to the finals that year. Brooks isn't playing up to his potential obviously because of his injury.

Though I probably never posted here, I used to think and tell my fellow Rockets fans in person that I thought Brooks was a better starter and would always be a better starter than Lowry.
(Of Course, I'm not insane, so I didn't talk crap to those who thought otherwise.)

I am very glad I was wrong. Individually Brooks v Lowry is pretty close, but I like the way this team plays with Lowry at the helm better than I did with Brooks.

i still think lowry hasnt reached his full potential, i loved ab but i always thought he should come off the bench, hes a shorter j.r. smith to me while lowry can dictate and run an offense and he's a bulldog but to all those "lowry is a career backup" people, i say this to you now...

I am not eating crow on Lowry. If you will go back through my post history, you will see very clearly that I always preferred him over Brooks.

Many of those posts are from last year. Things changed after Lowry got a 3pt shot in December. Most of those guys changed their mind .

I think the only guys that still hated Lowry was DaDakota. Lowry had greatly improved his 3pt shot and was playing great. DaDakota was still calling everybody out and tooting his horn, 2 months ago,

This is no coincidence. Him leaving saved Bud's career.

The time for eating crow has long past. By now it has decomposed into a pile of ****. They should eat it anyways, though.

Lowry developed an outside shot - who would have thunk it.

This "developing an outside shot" point is moot. Lowry was better than Brooks before he had a jumper, because he was better at literally everything else. That was the whole point "Lowry supporters" aka #WINNING supporters were hammering home on. The fact that he has a jumper now only makes the original "debate" a joke.

Things changed because Lowry got starters playing time. His jumper has improved a bit with the added minutes, a possibility that many of us had concluded years ago. You can't make absolute statements like "Lowry will never be a good starter in this league", and then take it back when he improves an aspect of his game. Absurdity at its finest. If you make a definitive statement that has proven to be flat wrong, own up to it and eat crow.

Most of these folks will give weak excuses instead, I can guarantee it. They always do.

If you're only concern about offensive stats, yes. Lowry brings a defensive intensity that one would never see from Brooks.

I called Palilo's show 2 years ago, back before Lowry had his contract, and told him that Lowry should be kept because his ceiling was higher... and he would eventually develop his shot, while Brooks was a one-dimensional 6th man and would never progress past that. He laughed me off the radio. Suck it, Charlie P!

    And to the OP...

Nice work on the m-m-m-m-monster pwn.

I love people saying Brooks was better last year.

This season that Lowry is having is the best season in Rockets PG history. He's leading the best offense in Rockets history. The Rockets with Brooks on the court last year were a NEGATIVE. The best that Brooks played last year was when we'd have Brooks and LOWRY on the court lol.

It's really not even close. If Lowry doesn't get consideration for MIP this year then it just confirms what we already knew: there's a reason the media/fans are the media/fans and there's a reason that DM is the GM.
