These guys are class acts and true leaders, Rockets fans hope that they go to their graves as Rockets.

Honestly, you are not going to find someone better than Rick Adelman and Chuck Hayes in the open market. I know this is about a .500 team now, you ain't too happy about it and we are looking for a superstar, but this team would be significantly worse without these guys and if you do find a superstar, you still want Rick and Chuck around your star. If you let these guys hit the market, a smart team will gobble them up in no time.

ive been saying that all along. Adelman is the main reason why we are having a slight chance to even make it. You won't find any other coach like him and resigning hayes is a must

Chuck Hayes is a professional and a true leader, I hope he retires a Rocket.

Seriously though, I think Les needs to pull his big head out of his backside, tell coach he's important to the orginization and sign him.

Chuck needs to be signed. Obviously we don't know what the new cba will look like, so it may be smart to hold off until it's known.

Could've locked in Hayes long term a long time ago. Now his value is higher

Before this season people were talking about renouncing his rights.

I don't have much to say, other than I agree.

I hate to read negative stuff about Adelman on the board. There are legit criticisms for every coach in the league, so I'll listen to any reasonable comments. I do have to say that anyone who dismisses Adelman with obnoxious and unsupported stuff like JCDenton are simply wrong. Adelman is a good coach by anyone's definition. There may be a better coach out there for the Rockets, but you have to make a reasonable argument for it.

Great thread, and I completely agree.

It seems that the lockout is conspiring against Rick staying though.

Hopefully the team will not try to save any money and just go ahead and sign the guy, especially if they are seriously considering offering Yao a veteran's minimum contract.

There is no one better at finding combinations that work than Rick Adelman. If the Rockets let him go and replace the staff, this team will go downhill in a hurry, it is built for Rick Adelman's read and react offense, without it, I hate to think whether some of the pieces would fit as well as they do now.

    Good thread.

There are many threads where I've gone into great detail discussing why Adelman is a poor coach, often with long bulleted lists with each bullet containing scintillating reasons and sub-reasons. On occasion there are even graphs. Sorry we can't all come up with brilliant and supported arguments like "Adelman is a good coach" and the critics are "simply wrong." Way to drive home your point with brilliant, irrefutable logic.

Now leave this thread in shame, charlatan.

Are you referring to the "Les" that saying " willing to spend whatever it takes to win a championship" for many years while refuse to go over luxury tax?

Amen. The Rockets are very lucky to have Adelman as a coach. The only better coaches out there, arguably, are Jackson and Pop.

Morey's worst nightmare - A Scola-less Adelman team pounds the Celtics and Adelman pumps up in-a-contract-year Chuck Hayes for the all-defensive team in the post-game press conference.
