I would never compare Patrick to Jamison. Jamison never was or is the defender or rebounder Pat is.
I really hope Patrick doesn't buy in this 3 point shooting crap. I like him on the blocks 10-15 and in from the basket. Having such a physical presence and putting him on the 3 point line is absurd.

 SUMMER LEAGUE!!! And why would you want one of your best rebounders on a team who is small at center 23+ feet from the basket?

I swear does every big we have need to develop a three point shot? Leave that to Brad.

If the Rockets get a true space eating center with a good post up game and good rebounder, than I could see Patrick drift to the 3pt line and try the occasional 3. Otherwise we can't let him drift too far from the basket as he has a natural nose for the ball.

I think we all view Stoudemire as a hell of a PF and he is popping out and hitting 3's this year. It really just depends on the offense that is being ran. In our current offense he could develop and sold 3pt shot. In another offense where the PF never gets higher than the foul line, he wouldnt develop a 3pt shot. Nothing wrong with having a 3pt game if it comes in the flow of the offense. When Scola runs the pick and pop he stays at around 18ft. When Brad Miller pops, he is usually behind the 3 pt line. Nothing wrong with Pat stepping out every now and again on a pick and pop, cause every other time he will be battling down low!

Amare is 10-21 on 3's this year. 25-100 for his career I'm not impressed. With Amares physical skill he should be on the blocks all day. Pats already manhandling fools as a rookie, I would rather he developes more low post moves and a face up game before he even thinks of going out to the three.

Okay, this is getting frightening. Some of these projections are sounding a little like DD fawning over a sweet-shooting, white forward (not to kick the guy when he appears to be in self-imposed exile or whatever, but still).

Patterson has been doing well though.

Jamison was way more skilled than 2pat in college.

I think maybe a young karl malone. He has a good jumper and plays smart.

I am thinking closer to a smaller Karl Malone without the dirty attitude, but also with an unfortunate r****dation in the defensive rebounding department.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/grantho01.html

8 years of a prime where his PER was 17-21. More importantly, he always played for championship-caliber teams or teams that went deep in the playoffs. He was a role player but a damn good one.

    2. He won't have to worry about that, starting at PF for the rockets for many years to come (I hope he retires a rocket lol). He can be a lengthier version of carl landry :)
