I remember I saw Hedburg live in Houston on someplace over near or on Richmond. He was pretty funny.

I think the funniest thing is to have a fan of his .. .try to tell one of his jokes.
Hedburg is the only one that could do Hedburg jokes

The Beatles were so high they even let Ringo sing some songs:grin::grin:

And this is coming from someone who can't stand cigarette smoke!!
He could be crude BUT the man had heart and his aim was very true.

I don't like screaming, neurotic comedians like Lewis Black and Sam Kinnison.
High on my list are a bunch you guys already listed:
David Chappelle, Chris Rock, Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Dave Attell, Louis CK, Brian Regan, Jim Gaffigan

Dude, his 2nd half was pretty damn strong for a guy in his what 70's??? I don't know that many comedians who are doing sold out shows at that age, could be wrong though, but I love his whole career past, present, future, many depth to it...

    Steven Wright.

I loved it when he would almost break his monotone voice to laugh with the audiance.

    My favorite, all-time:

    Andy Kaufman

    <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1uQlB99WCuk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

More performance artist than comedian, maybe, but he revolutionized anti-comedy. He wanted a reaction, any honest reaction; didn't have to be laughter.

"I don't know if you're laughing at me or with me...":
    <object width="512" height="288"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/cjWUbik51n5M15IeHL-lyA"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/cjWUbik51n5M15IeHL-lyA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="512" height="288" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object>

Reading The Great Gatsby (embedding disabled): everybody's waiting for the punchline. Listen to the reaction of the audience: confusion, then booing, then titters, then acceptance. "Let's keep it down because we have a long way to go..."

True that. Waiting at a restaurant, I tried quoting (with attribution) one of my favorite jokes, word for word, and with a pretty good memory for Hedberg's timing. Totally fell flat.

    Ignore the distracting animation:

George freaking Carlin. Comedy + Logical Philosophy + Stage Presence.

Also, as an Indian I HOPE nobody's favorite is Russell Peters. He is funny from time to time, but nothing more than a one-trick pony.
