I've always been a huge fan of stand-up comedy and I was having a Twitter debate earlier this week with a bunch of people over who the best stand-up comics were and it really got me to thinking. So I thought about it and wrote a new article on my personal Top 10 over on Gunaxin (with video) and thought that since the Hangout usually has some good debates on stuff like this, why not carry the conversation on over here? Again, this is your FAVORITE stand-up comics. Not necessarily a debate over who is the BEST. Because we can only talk about how that was Richard Pryor so many times. Looking forward to some answers and hope to discover some new ones I might have missed. Youtube samples welcome.
Old school stuff - Pryor, Murphy, Robin Williams and Chappelle New School stuff - Russell Brand, Aziz Ansari and Gervais
No problems at all with Hedburg. I just wasn't ready to put him in my personal top 10 yet. Maybe after more time passes.
For sure, forgot him somehow. This is dumb but everytime I think of Carlin, Bill & Ted pop into my mind lol.
Brian Regan Louis CK Jerry Seinfeld Patrice O'Neal Chris Rock I've probably seen Eddie Murphy: Delirious more than any other movie in my life. Raw was pretty weak in retrospect. Richard Pryor never did it for me, and George Carlin is really hit-or-miss, mostly misses.
I've heard OF Aziz Ansari, but I've never heard his act. Thanks for the suggestion. Adding it to my list of things to look for on Youtube to get through the slowest day at the office EVER.
There was a world of difference to me in his early stuff and late stuff. He went from a goofball to an angry, bitter old dude. Truthfully, I enjoyed about 98% of it though.
