I'm not hopeful of a data cap. In my first post I said I couldn't leave my contract until May, so I hoped the data cap wouldn't happen until mid-summer so I could still get in on it.

Ok just bit the bullet and ordered it from VerizonWireless.com using my upgrade discount and going for a 2-yr term since it brings the price down to $190 shipped. I'm getting it shipped overnight and Verizon waived the $8.99 shipping fee. Can't wait to try this out and test its hotspot capabilities!

Yeah i worked on LTE and before they actually rolled out I used to run speed tests on these things (I was the only one on the antenna so the bandwidth wasn't being split among users) and get speeds as high as 65 MBPS Down

and with verizon's subscription base, do you predict the numbers will bottom out during peak hours to be in line with tmobile's and sprint's?

How much is mobile hotspot feature per month after May 15 promo expiration? I'm currently not paying for tethering/hotspot using the Nexus One, but I might bite the bullet and get on the LTE bandwagon for this kind of speed.

Well we also used to run tests with "traffic" (fake simulated traffic) on the sites and we still got average speeds (on stationary tests) of about 21 MBPS.

So to answer you question during peak hours for Verizon, Tmobile, and Sprint; Verizon will blow Tmobile out of the water. Sprint on the other hand is running WIMAX and there speeds are pretty damn high, but LTE has a higher ceiling.

You have to keep in mind though that Tmobile and ATT are currently also going the LTE route so these kind of ridiculous speeds should become standard no matter which service you have.

What network are you on? yeah dude when i had sprint the most i would get was around 10 mbps, and it was useless indoors. That 2.5 ghz spectrum blows.

What do you mean they are terribly late? You do realize 4g was redefined to include HSPA+ after the fact, which is what TMobile and ATT are using. Clearwires WiMax was the first on the scene, which nobody is adopting.

Every carrier is adopting LTE as their future upgrades. MetroPCS was the first to bring out LTE, but their marketshare is so small its really insignificant. Verizon is just now rolling it out and everyone else is months away before their biggest markets see it.

3g/4g ... the title means little. Most of the world has has agreed to the LTE standard, which is a first in the industry. I would say Verizon is way ahead of the game.

So glad I didn't settle with an AT&T HSPA+ phone. Can't wait til AT&T gets LTE.

    Hopefully a dual core HTC.

Yeah I'm noticing that too. Kinda expected though. I'm probably gonna grab an extended battery. A firmware update is likely coming.
