He's been scoring high lately these past few games, most notably the Golden State game. You guys wonder if he can turn to a legit star? Would be interesting if he could still put up 20+ ppg a game next year when Tyreke comes back.
with tyreke back?? doubt it...and don't forget, even mike james put up 20 ppg on a bad team. thorton is not a bad player, but i would say hes not much better than a jamal crawford or a nick young....
So they trade Martin, because he's primarily a scorer and Tyreke is a ballhog for Landry. Then they trade Landry for another scorer in Thornton. I wonder when they're gonna realize that this is why they've been consistently bad.
Good 6th man type at least. Add Jermaine Taylor to that. Some of that was also cleverly disguised "We're drowning in financial losses and have to follow the Clippers strategy" moves. They can maybe think about that, depending on what they get back and how their possible relocation plays out. Thornton is being their poor man's Eric Gordon at the moment. If Sac doesn't like Tyreke's ballhogging, not sure that a Thornton/Taylor/Luther Head crew would offer much more "facilitation" but it'd be cheaper down the road.
