I think most of her stuff is boring, but this is catchy. Maybe because it reminds me of New Year's in Vegas.

That Rebecca Black song is the most brutal thing ever. Never have I heard a worse combo of vocals and lyrics. Ive watched that video 3 times now, all the way through...fml.

    No homo.

Great song, but this was the beginning of the end for R&B. Singer+Rapper+Sampled Hook= Hit song.

Could understand that, not all love songs are created equal.

Though if you did do that, could have Horatio Caine come in to inspect the damage and say "Well Frank, by the looks of it ... we have a bit of a 'Train' wreck here."

Its why I call the Eighties the Gayties, not that I made it up.

Back then everyone everywhere was making so much money and the fashion and entertainment flooded with so much androgyny and outright fruitiness, it was tended to like "I'll assume he's straight until proven otherwise. I'll check after all my cocaine runs out".

Have thought before how Britney is THE mega pop queen. But NEVER in my real life have I encountered anyone who had a Britney Spears album, or even commented about liking her. Little kids even. So this thread would help in seeing if people were just hiding them

This following song got me by surprise on the radio. A strong piano and string arrangement for a pop song. I didnt know it was BSB until I looked it up later. Their popularity and careers were thankfully written off, though that doesnt mean they couldnt actually mature musically.

Not justifying liking it but if it was sung by Rascal Flatts or Lonestar or Lady Antebellum, it'd be everyone's favorite country song everrrrr. I remember way back reading a BSB member saying if they were all black and doing the same stuff, they'd be getting R&B props like Boys 2 Men instead of bashed as a p***y boy band. I'm an admitted R&B fan and appreciate a good vocal. I don't know about THAT. Thats like saying Britney Spears should be getting her Whitney Houston type props. But they kinda had a point

I also agree with this sentiment.

The funny thing about Liz Phair is that she burst onto the scene as the ultimate "indie-rock chic" and there are still many people who feel that "Exile in Guyville" is one of the best indie albums of all-time. Unfortunately for her, she wasn't satisifed with being just a cult artist ("Exile in Guyville" did not sell well nor did her 2 following albums). A lot of that had to do with her voice, she sang in a monotone on her first 3 albums and she was the last person you would say that had a "radio-friendly" voice. Then she hooked up with the people that wrote Avril Lavigne's stuff and tried to sing in tune and, voila! She is now a pop star with stuff like "Extraordinary" and "Why Can't I" and at the same time was looked upon by her old fans as the WORST case of a sell-out, lol.
