If stretches are an issue, as in you're not improving and it just seems impossible to do, then there's probably some aligment issue holding the stretch back. Use foam rollers and foam shaped balls available for massage to break down any tissue adhesions you may have. It should help free up muscles and joints to move more correctly, but make sure to do the whole body.
After 2 days, everything hurts! Today's arm and shoulders and ab ripper x will be tough! Though I think the hardest part will be limiting my carb and fruit intake to 1 serving per day! I love my rice, pasta, and bread
I don't know about love, but its just such an essential part of an Asian Diet, I don't even know if its possible to go without Rice or bread...
Damn, reading these comments from folks who just started it...y'all are scaring me out of getting started. I'm 36 years old, 6'2" and about 208 lbs. I stay active by playing in basketball leagues & such, but never have done anything like p90x. Am I setting myself up to get injured? Is it possible to break into it slowly, or is it pretty much all or nothing? Example: I don't want to diet or limit calories. I just want to tone up a little bit. Is that feasible, or am I crazy?
that's what I've been doing, I'm in my fifth week, just a little change, not much. If you are on the diet program, probably you'll get more results
I hated doing the exercise AND strict diet routine. Sure there are better gains but there were too many days where I was absolutely dragging ass because my energy levels were so low.
Yoga-x was today. This is my favorite workout so far. I've never done yoga before and my flexibility is horrible,, but I really ended up enjoying it. At first I was agitated by the long (1.5hr) time and the seemingly impossible poses, but I settled into a nice groove and just did the best I can.
Officially DONE-ZO with Phase 1. Didn't lose a whole lot of weight, but I have lost inches and my clothes are looser. I have to say, for anyone sitting on the fence...THIS PROGRAM IS AWESOME. And it really works. I'm stronger right now than I've been, ever. It's an exhilarating feeling. Chest/Shoulder/Tricep today, it was TOUGH. But I got through it mostly modified. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do the crazy push-up claps...
I'm back on the wagon after an extended illness break, man I was SO weak after coming back... done with week 2... this week the weather is too nice to spend working out indoors, so I'm going to take every other day to go run at the park instead. I know I've lost 5lbs so far and my BF% has dipped, but one of the best things I've noticed is my flexibility is much better now, esp below the waist.
New workout day. The Back/Biceps workout is fun and pretty exhausting. Lots of using dumbbells. Thankfully no push-ups. Did that and Ab Ripper X. I find that I've made great progress with Ab Ripper, my core and midsection is simply strong enough now to do all 339 moves or whatever it is. Still hurts like crap, and sometimes I have to pause the tape to finish each 25 rep set, but I can pretty much completely keep up now, which I think will make the routine even more effective. I have a renewed resolve now to eat right for Days 31-60. Anyone else have a good workout today?
Week 3 and I also can pretty much keep up on ab ripper x. I only have issues on the scissor leg work. I can't keep the flat leg completely off the ground after about the 12th switch.
I'm like, a week away from being halfway done. That feels really good. It's scary-awesome to be able to sink much lower into my pushups than I could before I started. My top half has always been super weak, and a lot of times I half-assed or skipped over some of the push-ups in the first couple weeks. Today was the triceps video, which is intense, but I saw improvement from last week on almost every move. It feels as though my arms have *magically* gained so much strength - it's crazy to think that I have already improved so much in just a few weeks. Ab Ripper X too. My core and ab area have absolutely never been stronger, and I get to reap the reward of having the energy to finish all the exercises now. I'm really thinking there will definitely be a P90X: Round Two on the horizon.
thats right, no equipment needed. Im doing it right now, its pretty tough. Most of it is cardio type exercises (reminds me of football and basketball drills). The program seems to be designed for cardio gains and not so much for muscle building.
Cool, thanks. Basketball league about to start in a month this woul be perfect. Hopefully pains from my hernia surgery last year don't act up.
