Dude, it's not that hard. The MVP is basically based on these criteria: 1) You are on one of the top teams in the NBA 2) You put up good (usually great) numbers 3) Your team suffers greatly without you. LBJ is as much of an NBA as the league has seen because 1) his teams are always at the top, 2) He puts up the best numbers in the NBA, and 3) his teams are horrible when he sits out. If this year's Cavs don't validate his MVPs, then the award is meaningless.
all in same season MVP Best regular season record didn't reach NBA Finals Lebronx2 have any other players in history accomplished those playoff failures?
Dirk in 2007. KG won the MVP and had the best record in his conference in 2004 and didn't make the Finals. Karl Malone in 1999 tied for the best record, won the MVP, and didn't make the Finals. The infamous choke artist Magic Johnson won the MVP award in 1990, finished with the best record in the league, and lost 4-1 in the second round! Dr. J's team tied for the best record in the league in 1981. He won the MVP and failed to make it to the Finals. Bill Walton won the MVP, had the best record, and didn't make the Finals in 1978. Kareem's Lakers led the league with 53 wins in 1977. He won the MVP and didn't make it to the Finals. I think I'll stop there because that's when the ABA/NBA merger occurred.
Thanks to ESPN Highest Field Goal Percentage in Final 10 Seconds, tied or down by 3 or fewer, in the last 3 seasons. Dirk Nowitzki 8-15 , FG% 53.3 Carmelo Anthony 9-17 , FG% 52.9 Kobe Bryant 10-21 , FG% 47.6 Lebron James 3-19 , FG% 15.8 Dwyane Wade 3-26 , FG% 11.5 Stay hot Lebron/Wade fans. Very Clutch
chokers gonna choke, but oh well, i am sure lebrick and wade get the freethrows kb,dirk nor carmelo would get in the final seconds
That list just goes to show you how warped the general perspective is about which players are "clutch." Most people consider Dirk to be a supreme choke artist, yet he's number one on the list.
Rockets Pride, are you going to thank me for the research I did for the above post? It looks like Lebron is in pretty good company with Magic and Kareem, two of the top five (or so) players of all time.
why ? because basketball fans from 2000 on only know basketball from 2000 on? u prlly think AI is top 50 all time
