As much as I hate to say it on a Rockets bbs, and as pissed off at them as I currently am....I'd have to go with the Texans. Football is life.
Sigh, unfortunately, I too would have to say the Texans. There just aren't too many things in life that are better than a lazy Sunday spent watching your favorite football team find new, gut-wrenching ways to lose. I seriously think I might be a masochist.
Rockets, not even close I couldn't care less about baseball and the Texans mean almost nothing to me, they have done nothing in their existence for me to care much a out them
Football is the superior sport...The Rockets have been the best franchise in Houston...but they still play basketball, which pales in comparison to football. Texans it is...for better or worse. Probably worse.
I prefer the Rockets over anything else in this town, they are my lifeblood....but being realistic about it, this is a football town. Texans are bringing in 70k like clockwork despite 9 years of garbage product. Astros and Rockets slip, and their places empty out in a snap.
the rockets, the only pedigree. i can live without an nfl team, there are only games on mon/sun and you can always catch a good matchup.
Astros...I should say Rockets given the state of the franchises BUT Stros were my first love so i'll go with them. I already had a taste of no football and I survived, I can survive again.
Having a vested interest in a game without having to gamble or adopt a new team 162 days (or about half a year) trumps everything else. If I were exclusively an Astros fan I could get into Hot Stove League and Spring Training and would only have a couple months in there where I actually was expected to live a sport free life. Plus the NFL and NBA are much easier to enjoy without a "dog in the fight" baseball is totally unwatchable if you don't care who wins, "sacred rhythms of the game" be damned.
I'm taking Bud Adams out of the equation and then selectively remembering the good times. I miss the Oilers.
When the Texans got here, I pretty much got over the Oilers. Other than wanting to dismantle them limb-from-limb twice a year. (Yeah, *that* hasn't worked out well...)
The Rockets no doubt, the rockets always trying to better themselves, although they have failed to acquire super star in the past 2 years, but still they have great GM and and an owner who is willing to spend his money to win. Texans on the other hand with although respect to the fans on this board, they are nothing but losers, they have one of the worst Owners in the NFl, definitely the worst GM, they have had 8 consecutive loosing seasons 4 of them with the same coach and still haven't fire him to this date (that should tell you something) I would definitely go with rockets.
