    Plenty guilty pleasure songs I listen to. Electronic beats with airy female vocals is teh gheyz, but whatever.

    There's a Henry Rollins clip where he says when he's working out its not really the hardcore songs that hit the spot, but the love songs :eek: I've had that happen a couple times.


    Some best friends growing up starting getting into the music critic thing and our music interests (mostly him moving up into the "listener elite") actually starting causing problems in our friendship. Getting that whole "you're not listening to that, are ya" treatment. Another friend who was impressionable to that actually adjusted his music tastes to be in "respectability". Its all bullsh**, every last bit of the stupid snobby elitism. Its good for getting in a peer group of like-minded arrogance. Listen to what the hell you want and tell people to screw themselves.

    I was going to say that one. I absolutely loathe Katy Perry and everything she stands for (aside from her AMAZING breasts) but that song is a pretty well-written pop song. Cool string arrangement, catchy melody, and a positive uplifting message.

    Speaking of a well-written pop song by an artist I absolutely hate...

    Never been much of a fan of her music but Liz Phair is one beautiful woman. As for my guilty pleasure I will admit to Katy Perry.

    I've been thinking about listening to The Fray or Train before doing martial arts because they piss me off so much but then realized my urge to kill gets so worked up listening to stuff like that It would be dangerous for all concerned.

    It's funny. I was just about to start a thread about how I have began listening to country music and I need help to rid myself of this addiction. ;) :grin:

    I don't listen to a lot of new stuff but mainly stuff released in the 90s.

    jewel's debut album, Pieces of You, gets constant rotation on my mp3 player. it's usually fills the gap between Megadeth's Rust in Peace, Blaze Bayley's Promise and Terror, and Iron Maiden's Seventh Son.
