yea . . . this is what is kind of throwing the show off. I mean . . he takes the fight. . makes 10 mill Almost ALL of his problems simply go away Rocket River
The cage fight was not public and I think it was sort of forced so that his piece of crap brother wouldnt get killed. What bugs me is how horrible this brother is towards the family. Just a character but damn he shoulda been cut off the first episode and then the thing with a hooker??
Gawd Johnny is such a waste of skin. I hate that Romeo's gone, his little tidbits of boxing knowledge was eye opening.
Was watching The Fighter Last nite . .. . Johnny reminds me of Dickey. He is clean and sober . . more of a intentional leach where Dickey was more inadvertant because of him being a crack head Rocket River
I was pretty bummed when they canceled Damages (even thought it's apparently on another network now), so I can sympathize. Not sure where they think they're gonna get their numbers without building fan loyalty.
I didn't know that...hell i didn't know lights was canceled...but i can see that... I thought the final ep wasn't too bad...i enjoyed watching the series but i guess I might have been the only one...Romeo was the best part...wish he was there in the end...
Yep, cancelled, finale left a bit to be desired mainly because it seemed like they rushed through the final fight and then it just sort of ended. Last part was interesting but they'll be no resolution other than to assume that he sacrified himself for the good of the family.
I had no idea that the show was canceled, but I guess it's not surprising. I actually loved the show, and it definitely had a fresh premise....they just never could market it quite correctly. Last night's finale definitely felt rushed, and the final fight left a LOT to be desired. I found myself asking "Is this REALLY what we waited all season for?? A painfully, over-the-top, paid-off ref, and a woefully under-prepared Death Row??" But, since I now know that the show got the axe, it kind of makes sense. Spoiler I'm also going to go against the grain and say that had the show NOT been canceled, the entire fight sequence as shown would have been a fantasy of Lights while he actually laid on the canvas after being knocked out by Death Row. Then, at the end, when he asks who won the fight, they would go back to real time and show him lying on the mat.
that would have been interesting. I just got around to watching the finale. Sorry to see it wont have a second season as it certainly had its good moments. But it's hard to have think of this premise last more than two seasons. I thought the ending was a great twist.
Your spoiler was exactly how a movie from last year ended. The boxing of the finale was kinda lame, Lights looked like he learned nothing about dodging with Romeo and the actual punches looked all wide and loopy. I'm glad it didn't follow into a 2nd season, it probably would've been pretty dark with Patrick's mind failing, and both Brennan and Barry and Johnny playing him like a fiddle.
true, the actual boxing was kind of weak. I kept saying, what happened to him being quick and nimble...not staying in front of Death ROw, etc. I agree with the other poster that i wish Romeo had a bigger part.
