I don't know. A lot of players go on a good run and then resort back, especially rookies. Also, Jordan Hill. And I don't think of any of those teams play good D except maybe Philly. I do hope he keeps it up though because he plays hard.

Knicks aren't exactly a defensive powerhouse, someone like Psycho who is a scrapper and isn't afraid to bang inside would be a good match for softies like Melo and Amare, esp. if Amare was in his "not caring" mode.

20 pt games aren't that uncommon for someone who play 37 minutes a night.

    Let 'em keep hating.

Tyler has been on an absolute tear lately. His rookie year was basically wasted away with his case of vertigo -- he's finally starting to come around now. I'm happy for him; he was one of the hardest workers UNC ever had. I hope he can keep it up.

He dumped 30 more on the Knicks tonight. He needs to play against them more.

I guess that Scola for Grainger trade won't be happening.

Having followed him a bit this year, in limited minutes he seemed to always play well.
When he played against the Heat, he kept hitting mid range J's all game long, was annoying.

Also, wasn't he one of the great college players off all time?

He was, though mostly because he stayed all four years. UNC retired his jersey after he left. He's the type of player who any coach would want, busts his @ss and is willing to do anything you ask of him.

The downside of all this is what JBC mentioned -- there goes any Scola-Granger scenarios.

Hating is completely different from expressing some doubt.

I like how he doesn't mess around with assists. That denotes a certain confidence I like to see in a young power forward.

Keep it context. I thought he looked fairly mediocre (and downright bad at times) against the Rockets (against our terrible frontline). In fact he honestly shoots the ball way too much and at certain times simply became a black hole. I remember Drexler complaining over and over that once Hansborough got the ball it never left him. Good for him that he was making all his shots against the awful Knicks defense but lets not go overboard on him.

I'm not hating, I'm just not sure if he can keep it up, and like I said 20 pts isn't that big a deal when your team can allow you to play 38 minutes a game and you can shoot the ball as much as you want.

T-Will gave him confidence by letting him score without resistance :p.

I didn't mean to single anyone out with my hating comment -- you guys will have to forgive me as I have a soft spot for Tar Heels. For the record, I don't think Psycho-T is a 20PPG player. But I do think that he works too hard to ever not make it in the NBA and he's displaying some of that talent now. To me, this is his rookie year; last year he appeared in a 1/3 of the games before getting diagnosed with a serious case of vertigo.

He's been getting a lot of minutes lately, but he's also been earning them. He had a nasty slam on Amare tonight*. You're correct about his FGA being high during this stretch, but he's also shooting 59% from the floor while going to the line almost 8 times a game (Kmart goes to the stripe 8.3 times a game for perspective) -- so it's not like he's just chucking until he reaches 20.

I love how he just runs back down to the other side of the court like it's no big deal.

Yeah that was weird... not that you have to dance after every dunk or anything, but why didn't he at least do a pull-up on the rim and/or swing his legs at the defenders head? Something. That was just weak.

That dance was beyond stupid. Hell of a dunk though.

Tyler came back down to Earth tonight against a great defensive team in the Celtics. 4-14 for 10 points.. ouch. On the bright side, he did grab 11 boards.

In unrelated news, Roy Hibbert is clearly upset at the thought of people thinking he's good and has reverted back to sucking. Most people will probably remember his early season dominance and think he had a breakout season this year, but it was just another disappointing year for Roy.
