How much would the prize have to be in order for you to complete in a Logo Design Contest for a Non Profit Organization?
What kind of non-profit? Or is it... a non-PROPHET organization?! MUSLIMS!!!! P.S. - Free. But I don't design logos.
What difference does that make? What if it was for a regular small business, or for a student organization?
...makes all the difference in the world. I've gone door to door for causes I believe in...and frequently volunteer my time. Wouldn't do that for a small business or a group whose cause was unimportant to me. Nobody's doing it strictly for the cash if it's less then $500. Market value of logo design is much higher then that.
I'd do it for free to be honest. Non profit? Unless of course I don't agree with what they are doing.
I'd say $750 to $1250 depending on the scope of work a professional would first get your conceptual ideas, then that person would generate about a dozen or so logos from your conceptual idea, then you would pick a few from the submitted dozen and make changes from there until you have something you're satisfied with typically there shouldn't be more than 10 dialogue exchanges, otherwise it becomes expensive if you're just having these folks submit 1 hail marry final design and the best one wins... then somewhere between $500 to $750 would suffice your other option is to give some publicity to the artist in exchange for prize money, some artists opt for name recognition rather than pay out
It makes a ton of difference. People generally aren't going to spend the time it takes to design a logo if it's for a cause they don't believe in, or aren't interested in. The monetary gain is likely not large enough for someone to spend their free time doing something that could possibly be quite involved.
I believe NAMBLA is a non-profit organization. I wouldn't exactly want to donate my services for them.
Fair enough, that makes a ton of sense. However, it seems as if anything that a non-profit tries to get done on a "volunteer" or "free" basis is generally pretty ****ty and crappy.
All non profits have operating expenses. When I was in college, we routinely paid web designers, I would assume this is a similar expense.
Really depends on who I'm designing for. But, for this poll I selected $25 or less because of the non-profit aspect.
It makes a lot of difference especially if I am donating my time. I mean would you do work for a white supremacist organization just because they were a non-profit?
i think i would do something, depending on how time consuming (which means how nit picky you want to be), for a donation to the tip jar. purely for the competition... and have clutchfans vote.
