As long the Heat keep playing team ball and distribute evenly among the big three, they will win. However, if one of them has an off game...
they lost by 30 points last time they meet. I expect this game to be closer, but the spurs will probably win again. They have a mutch better team than the heat, and can score inside/out. Parker is gonna have a picnic.
We might learn a lot about both teams tonight. Should be a playoff atmosphere. The Heat will be looking for payback and need this game a lot more than the Spurs.
Do we really need a thread for every single Heat game? There is a Heat season thread that's still on the first page.
yes, i think we do the debates are great. why go dig back through a 100 page thread to find a certain game?
it's funny, teams usually beat the heat if the opposing PG just outplays the heat's PG (like score a lot and shut chalmers/whoever down at the same time). most likely, it's due to either shotmaking and dribble penetration that forces help. boston owns the heat this year, primarily b/c of rondo bulls w/ rose knicks beat them 2 weeks ago b/c of billups orlando b/c jameer stepped up spurs b/c parker penetrated at will that's why they can beat the lakers. i don't think the size is as great of a concern as stopping the opposing team's PG. either wade or lebron have to step up and guard those guys a lot if chalmers can't do it. we all know bibby can't. let's see if wade steps up and guards parker tonight if chalmers gets into trouble.
You are dead on about PG play against the Heat. This is why I don't see them making the Finals unless they are the #1 seed. They won't get the chance to play the Lakers because they probably won't beat both the Celts and Bulls in the playoffs. Gaining 4 games on the Bulls will be very tough. Wouldn't surprise me if the Heat pass Boston and end up #2. If they play the Knicks in the 1st round, it will be a 4-0 or 4-1 breeze.
Heat will win tonight. Also, the main reason the Heat lost to the Bull's the last time, was they missed a key rebound, as Chris Bosh played really bad. If he had turned up that game, they would of won. They are a lot closer to the Celtics and Bulls, then people give credit too. They have lost the games, by 2-3 points each time, and could of won all of them, if they played better in the stretch.
okay so what about the time against portland a few days later... both Lebron and Wade went off u can find a reason why any team lost any game
The Heat would blast the Knicks in the playoffs. If D'Antoni doesn't have a clear talent advantage, I don't give his teams much chance in a 7-game series. Even if they improve their roster to a near-championship level in a couple of years, he ain't the coach to take them to the promised land. The only way they could beat the Heat is for Chauncey Billups to play out of his mind. I don't think he can do that anymore in a whole playoff series.
the Lakers are proven in other ways against good teams.. the heat not so much. but man if the lakers had to play the heat... i wouldn't be too confident in the lakers Heat Knicks I'd say Heat in 7
Speaking of confidence, I'd say you have too much confidence in the odd-duck team known as the Knicks. You know they got their behinds paddled last night at the Garden by the free-falling Pacers (who didn't have Granger)?
