As long as we don't start him over Lowry for no reason. Lowry deserves that spot.

Of course. That's the strategy. If we're not willing to trade for superstars when they come available, Morey is wasting everybody's time. He would probably re-up. If he doesn't, I'd still rather have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. I'm not interested in another season like this one where we debate between honor and draft picks instead of anticipating the postseason.

It might not be possible for CP3 to go to New York. The Knicks gave $20 mil a year to Amare and Melo, with the CBA coming up and the possible hard cap coming into existence, Howard and CP3 might have to form their own 'Super' team.

We have all seen what the Big Three have as a supporting cast. If Paul signed for even $12 mil a yr that would put the Knicks big 3 at $52 mil a year and the Heat's big 3 at ~$46 mil a year. I think CP3 should team with Howard and go to LA or find another city like ours!

    "So you're saying there's a chance..."

What concerns me is why aren't the Hornets a better team? They have a superstar in Paul, a power forward, and a center who can play defense and rebound, and they still aren't that great a team. I don't know if adding paul to our lineup makes us that much better or not. If we can't pickup a decent center somewhere, I definitely don't think it makes us a real contender. If acquiring Paul is just a move to try and attract more superstars, I don't feel too good about that move, but I could be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised to see Morey make the move though, he is pretty desperate for a superstar it appears.

No we need to develop talent and Fins a star that wants to be here. Chris paul wants to go to New York, let him. Although in there current state I dont think they can sign another max contract player. So they goon a have to work something to have all three of those guys. And all though that would be a pretty formidable threesome. That team would definitely have glaring holes and most likely would not win a championship.

On top that I question Chris Pauls durability. He had the knee thing and now the concussion. His numbers are huge, but in the last few seasons Chris Paul has fallen off a little bit. And I think that will continue as he gets more point guards get better.

Right now theres about five or six points I'd take over Chris Paul. Although their all for the most part probably untouchable. I just think Chris Pul is a bit overrated.
Let's see what he does come playoff time if the Hornets make it. Because as of late all Chris Paul is to me is a big name with a falling off game.

    Morey's strategy.
Develop a good PG every year, sell them for picks, develop picks, sell them for picks + cash.

No, I don't want to "rent" anybody and don't think that he would be that much of an impact on the team. We need a BIG.

In theory, I'm against ANY rentals. However this is possible only, and only if, you had enough firepower to be in contention.

he can want to go to NY but he better be willing to play for 7 million a year, because that is the most cap space they will have....

    It aint happening.

    woooooo noo

Woooo (noooo) why would I do want to bring that annoying wooooo sound to TC after he scores a basket and wooooo no he's no Ric Flair.

The so called Paul got shut out by Lowry easily and outscored him too.

    See sig.

West is supposed to opt out and leave via FA this summer. This is one of the reasons they wanted Landry to take his place. So let's say West leaves and the Hornets start to suck. CP3 demands a trade. The Hornets have Okafor's albatross contract hanging around their neck preventing a complete rebuild. The Rocks could go all in and trade for Okafor and Paul giving up Lowry, Scola, Thabeet (expiring), maybe Miller who has a non guaranteed contract after next season, and some young talent like Twill.

It comes down to Okafor, which a lot of teams are going to shy away from due to his ugly contract. He's ideal for the Rockets who just need some rebounding, defense, and size in the middle.

I think Miller, Lowry, Scola, Thabeet, Twill matches salary wise.

    CP3/Dragic
    Martin/Lee
    Bud/Rookie
    Patterson/Hill
    Okafor/Hayes

You make some very good points..

The game rules changed and the rough play is not like it used to be. Players from different teams go have dinner after games and text each other all the time.

They play on line games against each other... Some have formed teams that play each other on line.

I'm saying the grudge and rivalry level between teams is almost gone and so players scheming to hook up on a team is part of the game today... Good thing or bad, thats the way it is.

Howard is the player most likely to shake loose next year, the nba won't trade Paul, they simply won't, and NJ is unlikely to trade Williams so shortly after acquiring him.
