You knew it would show up here sooner rather than later.

To start it off, I give you co-founder of the Club for Growth, Reagan appointee and Supply Side acolyte Larry Kudlow:

Yes, we can be grateful that the probably thousands of deaths will not have a major effect on world markets or CNBC programming. Huzzah!

    b*stard.

Larry Kudlow treats Japan as assets rather than human beings.

Unfortunately I can imagine that there would be some decent economic opportunities there as well as some new innovations as far as construction and emergency planning, whereas a 7.0 in Haiti just assures another 200 years of misery.

On the hopeful side Japan is probably the best country in regard to recovering from major disaster. It rebuilt after the Kansei earthquake in 1924 that leveled Tokyo and rebuilt back stronger than ever after the destruction of most of the major cities in WWII.

    damn...that is insensitive as hell.

quick question for those that feel its not big deal, imagine what your reactions would be if a chinese reporter said that it was a good thing that human losses were greater than economical losses for china after katrina?

how can anyone here think that way? damn that reporter.

    Think on the bright side

At least they're not in some war torn African countries or the slums of India

But I guess since Japan is one of our "allies" and "trade partners", we should help them out more than the others.

I think they forgot about the part where we completely bombed the hell out of Japan and outlawed nuclear warfare right after we used it. People were talking about pearl harbor, and at one point one of the morans in that huddle mentioned hurricane katrina... REALLY?

That "Pearl Harbor" collage was really upsetting. I'm disappointed that people can think like that.

I honestly believe he misspoke. He isn't an insensitive a-hole like that. I listen to the guy every single day at work. Yes he is a hard core "free market" Republican, but he isn't a troll or a-hole. He has issued an apology say he flubbed the words and meant to say it the other way around.

Click on the link in Post #1, listen to the conversation, and tell me he "flubbed" the words. I don't see it. At all. He thought what he said.

Get off your high horse. It's only a matter of hours before you would have copied some ridiculous wingnut blog and posted here about how the Obama administration is not responding adequately. You and texx are just upset that Kudlow spoke a truth of the modern Republican Party... people are less important than economic assets. You're even more upset that somebody noticed.

If a collage of 50~ facebook users can upset you just by waving some blind patriotism around, I think you might have a heart attack when you read about what else this country has done....
