Just wondering how you guys feel about DWade winning MVP. I think DWade has helped his team as much as Lebron has especially when it comes down to the 4th quarter. Thoughts?
if wade had his own team, he would be in the top 3-4 for discussion right now. his stats are top 3 in the L. stats-wise: 1) lebron 2) dwight 3) wade it's unfortunate. wade is playing awesome for most of the year. but i think thing that takes away wade's candidacy is that lebron has been more "consistent." wade has had like 6-7 stinkers this year (like literal bombs), and a lot of them were against top notch teams. secondly, lebron not only handles the scoring (he's their leading scorer still), but he also controls most of the playmaking. his offensive responsibilities are more than wade's. thirdly, spo has come out saying lebron should be a candidate for DPOY. lebron is like the heat's dwight howard on the perimeter. if you watch heat games, you know lebron does more than wade. that's not saying wade cannot do those things. but spo has put more on the plate for lebron to handle.
Unexpected consequence of being a member of the Superfriends. I was saying earlier. . . Bosh could have had a Hall of Fame Career but Now he will just be Generic Power Foward #4423 Rocket River
First and foremost, the MVP goes to DRose. He has been the best player, all season long he has been like Lebron in a PGs body. The only difference is, unlike Lebron, he has been CLUTCH all season long. Lebron has been like LeChoke all season. DWade is far more clutch than Lebron but he made the mistake of letting the Lebron hype get to him and let him take final shots at the end of games. So, imo, this is the way it goes. 1) DRose 2) DHoward 3) Lebron
how can anyone win league mvp when they're not even their own team's mvp, this thread can't be serious.
most valuable player..if he wasn't on the heat, their record would probably be the same if not better. Not most valuable player at all
How can Wade be MVP when he's not even the best player on his team? Lebron is better and more important to the Heat than Wade. That said, Wade is a better closer than Lebron and should get the ball at the end of the tight games. Neither of them should win the MVP because for a team with two superstars they've been losing to too many quality opponents. Rose is going to win the MVP award this year unless something very strange happens in the last 20 or so games. It's almost a given now that Chicago will finish ahead of Miami in the standings and they can possibly beat out Boston as well. Winning is by far the most important criteria in MVP award.
not really except inefficient. http://www.82games.com/1011/CSORT11.HTM look at the top 25 scorers. notice who is 2nd to last in fg%. rose. notice who is last. wade. although after the lakers game, wade may have pushed rose down to last.
how can he Wade MVP? When you have two of the top 5 players in the league, neither should be higher than 3. Thats how Shaq and Kobe were judged and it should be no different here.
So what's your definition of clutch then? Last five minutes (end of the game time frame), neither team ahead by 5 pts (the game matters) seems like a pretty good definition of clutch. If you're only talking about just the last shot of tied games then GTFO out of here. How many times does that happen in a season? 5? 6? If the clutch sample size is that small you won't be able to tell anything from it at all
Why do you need someone to define it for you? I don't think stats were needed to tell people that Jordan, Bird, or Hakeem were clutch. You know it when you see it.
Curious: do you think that a player scoring with four minutes left in a tight game is as clutch as a player scoring in the final 20 seconds? Without knowing the numbers or players, I'd assume there are a lot of players that can rack up points in the final five minutes but very few that you could trust with the ball to win you the game when there's 10 seconds left.
