I’d be cautious about the cause of the first incident in the OP, however. Racists do tend to be stupid, and this is what people like Beck and ATW prey on, but how stupid would you have to be to confuse a man wearing a Sikh turban for a Muslim?

I don’t know the background but there’s been a lot of Sikh on Sikh violence, including murders, in Vancouver in recent years. There is some kind of deep rooted split that’s causing a tremendous amount of hate and violence within the Sikh community. Are there any Sikh’s here who can fill us in on what’s going on?

I was walking back to my car from the mosque last year, and a bunch of rednecks roared by in a pickup truck.

They were shouting prejudiced words at anyone coming out of the building and on the sidewalks. One of them looked at me and my co-worker, and he said, "watch out, you're surrounded by _ _ _." Apparently my colleague and I were exempt from their tirade because we looked Caucasian and were dressed in office wear.

Since then, I'm glad I don't "look the part". You never know if some racist scum has an itchy trigger finger.

I've read about the violence in Vancouver Punjabi-Sikh community.

The Indian community in Vancouver is deep-rooted, but most of this violence seems to be drug-related, coupled with the fact that most of the Sikhs in Vancouver are the rednecks of India. I've even heard stories of Punjabis in Vancouver that have been living in Canada for decades, but still can't speak a word of English.

What was the trick you were trying the other day? As I recall you were using the incident in Germany where the American servicemen were killed by someone shouting in Arabic to try to suggest that all Muslims are criminals, or that Islam is inherently criminal. This is a standard trick used by the Klan and your Nazi forefathers, of course. One black man commits a crime therefore all black men are criminals, or one Jew commits a crime therefore all Jews are criminals. Your attempt to use the same trick to try to suggest that Islam is inherently criminal is part of what makes you a modern day Nazi. You play the same games and you’ve earned the same name.

 

Thanks for the insight. I’m not surprised that the drug trade is involved. In some ways the lax attitude towards soft drugs in Vancouver is a good thing. I’m not in favour of throwing someone in jail for minor possession, for example, but the organized crime that controls the drug trade there is a BIG problem, and that seems to be the case in every ethnic community.

Again, a lie by you. Never did I suggest that all Muslims are criminal, this would be a ridiculous statement. It cannot be debated that the guy who committed the killings did so because he believed his religion not only allowed it, but demanded it from him. That most Muslims would say this is a misinterpretation is also undisputed by me. But then you have surveys where a majority of Muslims in certain countries says suicide bombings are justified. If that is not a reason to question the role of religion as a motivating factor in such crimes, then what is? But doing so does not make me a Nazi, as much as you hateful bigot continue to say it.

What did the guy cite as his motive? Was it religion? Answer yes or no.
