A comment from Feigen's latest blog, which you can read here: http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2011/03/with_margin_for_error_in_game.html

Hi Jonathan, Any truth to what Richard J indicated in his blog, ie, Alexander is displeased with Adelman? Thx

(Leslie is like a fan. He goes up and down with the play of the team. There was a home game recently he was about as happy as I've seen him over the years. There have been times, especially with the really bad losses, that he was furious. -- Jonathan)

The current play of the team actually shows that Adelman MERITS being kept. They'da been 8-2 their past 10 games if their arguably best player Luis Scola played the previous game. Thats after trading off long time starters with YOUNG backups taking their place. And all along without their best player YAO MING who the Rockets DID seem to indicate he'd be counted on.

I can see if the Rockets don't bring Adelman back cuz they've lowered their overall expectations of the team and want to develop. It doesnt make much sense to to move out Adelman for an even MORE "win-now" coach in Larry Brown. Larry Brown could turn the whole development of the team upside-down to have his team "play the 'right' way".

When Van Gundy got fired, there were conflicting stories about if Morey was behind the firing or not. I read an anecdotal account where Morey favored keeping Van Gundy but Alexander wanted more exciting "Phoenix Suns style basketball" and no more boring "Van Grumpy". Also people said Morey gave Van Gundy a raw deal by quickly reeling in Adelman when he was available and forcing Van Gundy out.

All in all, they shouldnt blame Adelman for depending on Yao. Or Les overrating his team yet again without trying to go into lux tax land. But I can see if they go with a developmental coach instead of the veteran.

''Are you kidding me?'' the guy asked. ''The Rockets are a very well-coached team. They're not going to hire someone better than Rick Adelman.''

JVG isn't coming back. Jonathan Feigan responded to someone in one of his previous blogs that Les and JVG have a very straind relationship (if any at all) and would most likely not ask him back.

To be fair, the president job is better suited to someone burnt out on being GM.

Honestly, I totally love JVG, but man, not now. It took years for JVG to build the team he wanted, a perennial top 5 defensive team.

For the last 3 years, Morey has been working hard to build a team suited complement Adelman's brilliant offense. I don't want to go through another major overhaul.. it'll destroy the identity we've been trying to build and it just takes too damn long.

If Adelman has to leave, I say give Elson a shot. Run the same offense and keep tweaking what we've got.

No kidding. I would dismiss this out of hand as typical Richard Justice bull **** were it not for the fact that I've been concerned for a long time that...

    a) Adelman should have been given an extension last season.

    and

    b) Les has taken us down this garden path of stupidity before.

If Coach Adelman isn't brought back, or refuses to come back because he's pissed that he wasn't extended a long time ago, and/or isn't happy with some of the moves by the front office, moves possibly being pushed by Alexander, it's going to be a disaster for the Rockets, at least for the next 2-3 seasons, and it could be longer than that. Anyone want to spend the next 2-3 years suffering through mediocrity, thanks to Alexander? I don't. Oh, I'd still be here suffering through it all. I'd still buy League Pass because I have a tendency towards self-flagellation, with a side of tossing my money out the car window, hold the Mayo, please. I'd still be living and dying with the Rocks, but I would be one royally ticked off fan.

This column cries out for a denial by all the people that count in the organization. If all we hear are crickets chirping for the next couple of days, then the odds are good there's something to it, and may Fate or God or whatever entity that fiddles with us just for grins have mercy on us all.

I could see Shane Battier pulling off player/coach. Battier one day will be an NBA coach. An above average one, methinks.

Sorry to disagree with so many posters I admire and respect, but I hope the report is true. It is time for Adelman to go. He has helped the team in many ways, especially offensively, but I think he had done the best that he can do. He needs to finish his career in a situation that is "win now." Not in a rebuilding deal like here. This situation is too fluid for a "high structure" guy like Adelman.
He is very frustrated with some of the personnel moves that that have been made and I think he won't be back no matter what.

Fire him. The rockets need to suck and get a top 5 pick.
