I think you are going to see the digital devices split: 1) Production Machine - Laptop & Desktop 2) Consumption Machine (limited production) - Tablet , Phone Techies and Professionals will all have the Production machines (and the consumption machines because they like gadgets) but a lot of the "general public" will probably gravitate mostly to the Consumption machines for the apps and interfaces that "just works". It's the simplicity. The apps are the conduit for the tasks at hand for the user. Apple understands this. It knows it's customers (bigger picture, not just the fussy tech geeks).

Why would I want to carry around a separate keyboard with a tablet instead of a laptop? The home desktop might be eliminated one day due to powerful laptops but laptops will also become ultra portable (under 2 pounds) and have touchscreens (some already do) iPad is a great travel companion and fits a great niche but it will not replace smartphones or laptops.
Without even watching, I have a feeling their over the top portrayal of Apple employees is tame in comparison to your anti-apple negative attention w**** shtick.
IMO laptops will still dominate in the business and student market as these two types require the keyboard for typing reports, papers, etc. But for everyone else, the keyboard is essentially for surfing the web, some email and chat. I believe most people can get by using the on screen keyboard, and for those who require the tactile feel, they can always purchase a keyboard. Consuming media feels so much more intuitive and easier using your fingers and a touchscreen.
It was never meant to replace smartphones or laptops. But what you will find is that it will take a significant chunk out of the laptop market, and make the PC all but obsolete.
Ok so PC is what more people call a windows based machine or personal computer larger than a phone in general. What are you referring to as a PC?

I'm wondering where to go, gonna head over to either the Best Buy on the Katy Freeway (near Costco and Bunker Hill shopping center) or the Apple Store at Memorial City Mall. Might pass Best Buy on the way to Apple Store. Either way I'll be heading over around 3, any thoughts?
Honestly, I like what I see. The problem is, I liked what I saw last time too. It's the price point that stops me from buying one....
It is about the same price of an iPhone that is not subsidized. How long until these things will be in stock regularly? I doubt there will be the rush like for the iPad and I think that took about 2 months right?

That isn't a lot to you? One, I've never bought an iPhone at the unsub price. Two, its over $400 and can do as much (if not less than) a netbook. Its a nice little toy for the livingroom, but I for one don't have that much cash just sitting around burning a hole in my pocket. Maybe after my PhD I'll have money... Haha, probably not. I think if they meet me half way and sell it at $300 I'll consider it. That's why I'm on the fence about buying an old ipad right now.
If I was an Apple fanboy I would definitely do the same thing to by sh!tting on and making your competitors look stupid. Xoom I'm sure is a great product. If they have as much Apps as the iPad it would be just as good or even a superior tablet.
Just because it's a criticism of something Android doesn't automatically make it an 'Apple fan'. That type of thinking is more fanboy than anything else, tbh. Ars Technica also echoed some similar concerns over the Xoom. Like anything else, there are positives and negatives. Hard to say really. It seems like all of them are holding off until late afternoon to start selling. I'd imagine the Apple Stores would have the greatest bulk.
i don't know guys. Saying that the Xoom battery lasts 2 hours, that Honeycomb is "riddled with problems" and the standby time is 8 hours vs a month for the iPad is beyond biased. It is pure made up garbage. I just don't understand it.
