It is not enough that the gods of the basketball arena have stricken us with blood and **** the past half decade, taking from us our champion Yao far too early while still in his primus. Even fair Tracy was cursed the second he set foot here. No that would let us off too easy. Just when we start gaining on the opponents ahead of us the gods decide to piss on us once more. Of course Dwight Howard has to be suspended the ONE game Portland plays in Orlando. Of course of the 2 games Tony Parker has been out all year, one of them have to be against MEM. Of course Zach Randolph starts raining game winning buzzer beaters with 2 seconds on the clock for the first time in his life as if the gods shot it for him. Of course the ONE game Eric Gordon comes back and plays like he was never injured before in his life was against us. Literally ONE game, as he was injured again immediately the next game. If that is not the work of the gods I do not know what is. Even when we finally catch a break with an injury to an opponent in Frye, OF COURSE the gods have to grace us with similar fate as Scola misses his FIRST GAME of his career. Curse you gods of the basketball arena. Curse you. What have we done to deserve this??? We have rid ourselves of the agent you infiltrated us with: Spoiler What more must we do?!?!? I long wait the day that, at long last, the gods remove **** from ****ing ass! Spoiler
So if the "basketball gods" hate us. Then how do they feel about the Mavs and Jazz with 0 championships?
Not giving up, YET, but it's starting to look like maybe it's just not our year. Really have no one else to blame but ourselves, all those early games that we let slip away are coming back to haunt us. Rudy and Dawson knew about Yao's feet and McGrady's fragile health so not going to completely blame bad luck on those injuries but it played a part in the madness.
Yeah, mathematically still possible but I really don't think it's gonna happen. Too many teams have to collapse and we have to play too great. Margin for error is too small and losing games to teams we have to pass like Phoenix is not helping at all. Borderline playoff team but not one. Sure wish we had traded Brooks substantially earlier.
I'd agree, seems we haven't been in good graces with the basketball gods. However, I'm sure its not as bad, maybe in comparisons to.. Cleveland, Utah, Sacramento, Indiana and saving Portland/New Orleans etc. Sure some will make the playoffs- but they're not conference finalists. I know, I know.. Still, our situation blows; maybe just a little.
And DM still lands a damn good player like Patterson. I think things might even out and we'll see some unexpected losses. Every game is huge. Gotta win tomorrow night. We're far from contenders this season but playoff experience is always a good thing.

There are so many benefits to making the playoffs. Experience for our young guys. Exposure in the media which = increased value of our assets. Making it a more memorable season = retaining Adelman hopefully. Retaining my sanity. Etc. TOO BAD THE GODS OF BASKETBALL HAVE SMITE US ONCE AGAIN TONIGHT. How the **** does the second best team in the west lose to NO without its best player?!?!?!
The OP gets cool points because of the Spartacus theme. It does seem ironic about the things that has happened in regards to the playoff race. Simply put though, the rockets arent a good enough team.
dont let the illusion of the number of posts make it look like you have any more clout knowledge or right to call me a rookie. Frankly, the number of posts that you have and the stupid crap you've been saying about alot of stuff makes the IQ in this forum look bad. it's just a lot of stuff I've noticed you've been saying and the dumb attention threads you've been putting up...its something I don't look for but eventually I pick it up if the occurences keep happening...and low and behold...there you are again just coming off like a dunce. I'm pissed off about it bro, and I decided to let you know. There. You have a new enemy and it's me, ME. A rookie with a low number of posts, looks like an automatic win for you. And if you ever see me posting anything in the forum that rubs you the wrong way, which I think i have already before...feel free to comment and debate with me...but If must i'm sticking with my plan and will debate with you about anything Rockets until I win. And this basketball gods emo crap is just off. you probably advocated tanking like all season (i don't know for sure) and this lowry being good against back-ups only is just insane. There....so whatever you want to say back I'm all ears or eyes.
