I know this could have gone to the twitter thread or a Brad Miller hate thread, but think it's worth noting that Morey wrote the following when post-game commenters were ready to riot at Brad Miller's house: Brad Miller made a couple of bad plays at the end of the game, but he has had an overall positive impact recently. Part of the reason why the Rockets offense has been humming along was Brad Miller's ability to pass, shoot, and even drive. Whatever his deficiencies, he is doing the job we brought him here to do. Morey appreciates Brad Miller's play and so do I.
I agree. No one is perfect and he knew he messed up (which costs us the game) but how many times have you seen him make really amazing passes. His inside passing is just as good as Hayes outlet passes. He may be the slowest driver in the league but somehow he manages to hit them or gets fouled in the process. At one point of the season he was almost 50% behind the arc. I think the combination of him with Lee/Cbud is even more amazing with their sheer athleticism and quickness. I'm actually having a lot more fun watching them play after the trade deadline than the entire first half of the season.
Dude is getting killed on the boards and on D. He is making great passes in half court sets though Cfans should fire you
In his defense, he played much better than Chuck. Had Adelman not taken him out on the fourth quarter, maybe the Rockets pull away.
Miller made some NICE passes last night, excluding the last few seconds but he is constantanly getting out worked for rebounds, slow rotating over and hasn't been hitting his 3 point shots. Morey isn't going to kill the guy on twitter, he's no Marcus Banks, but he sees what we all see too.
I'll agree to this post, bold in particular. He facilitated when we were dueling, point for point, in the third. His stroke prevents people from giving him too much cushion. His knees are bummed out, probably hurts like a mug when he takes a few hard steps . His reaction to his blunders showed how much he cared. I'm not mad at him.
1 game didn't ruin the season, so lets give Brad a break. If you play this game long you'll be a hero and a goat. Its part of the deal. Ask Lebron! No need to pile on Brad I'm sure he feels bad enough.
And actually he does OK on the boards. He led the team last night with 9 rebounds in 24 minutes. Yes, his defense is bad.
It may just be selective memory working here, but I didn't see Brad Miller win a contested rebound all night. Gortat absolutely owned him. Hayes and Patterson, otoh, battlefought their way to some boardage, despite Chuck having an off-game. I'm really sick of Miller, he is a one trick pony with his passing, and that is starting to fade on him... I can't believe we're stuck with him another two whole years or rather, I can't believe we're stuck with nothing better.
I didn't realize that. That's not too bad. It just seemed liked Gortat was working him some. It's not lack of effort or hustle. He just can't leave the ground when he jumps.
so how come more people on this board aren't gms? since they think they can pull unbelievable trades out of there ***es
