He didn't get his contract extension last year. And it's not like it was super long, either. It bumped him from 2011 to 2012. Gave McNair a sense of security following the first winning season, and also a seemingly easy out in case Kubiak bombed in the 2010-2011 season, which he did. And yet, he's still here. The idea that Bob ever seriously considered canning Kubiak, or "let him sweat it out", is ridiculous. He was likely on the phone with Wade the morning after the Baltimore game, as Wade's hiring was the worst kept secret on Kirby at the end of the year. Gotta keep Gary, otherwise it's too Traw-matic!
I don't know, but players have been punished for putting themselves in bad situations though they didn't necessarily do anything illegal.
Its not an issue of legal or illegal...in today's NFL, with stuff thats been going on, supporting inhumane treatment of animals isnt a very smart PR move. Why post pictures? Everyone is discussing how dumb of a move it was by him to do this...if you cant figure it out, then Im not sure what to tell you.
He got his contract extension after the 9-7 season and McNair tried to give him a three year deal taking him through the 2013 season.
Yep. Kubiak refused, as he wanted his contract to end at the same time as his assistants. So, in actuality, it's worse than I thought. Bob drank the Gary punch a long time ago
Kareem Jackson's twitter Pics below. He didn't take any pics of the actual fights, just the gathering and the chickens. Yawn. This will be a big deal about nothing. I'll be sure not to listen to sports radio for the next few days ... just when it was getting to be listen-able again with Rockets talk. Spoiler
i agree that he might take some flack but cockfighting is part of many south american cultures. It would be like going to a bullfight in Spain...if you can't figure that out then i don't know what to tell you
just barely. I like your angle though...he even falls in the court of public opinion. well done. ...mandatory, "then i don't know what to tell you"
Yeah I understand that it's legal...I already mentioned that this has nothing to do with that. The fact is that people all over the press are giving him crap. I think he could have been smarter about the situation...and I think the texans don't need the bad press. That's all. Plus, the commish looks down on anything that could bring the image of the players down. So, in conclusion, if you can figure out that it wasn't a bright move on jacksons part, then I don't know what to tell you.
