I hope you have seen Mystic River then. Takes place in Boston. One of my favorites. Directed by Clint Eastwood. Definitley worth watching if you haven't seen it.
I love Australian crime movies...... Guy Pierce is just wonderful, ever since the guy did Memento, that dude is unstoppable....
Cedar Rapids - 7/10 Well done little comedy, not too long and refreshingly anti-formulaic. John C Reilly acting a fool is always a plus. Not laugh out loud funny throughout, but very subtlety funny at times.
The Karate Kid (2010) 5/10 It was surprisingly good but Smith didn't seem like a good fit or actor in it to me.
Date Night, 5/10 - Still hard for me to see Steve Carell as anyone other that Michael Scott. Other than a few funny lines (zip your vagina!), this was a predictable bore. Grown Ups, 7/10 - Not much of a plot, but a lot of great one-liners. Steve Buscemi stole the show, as he does in all Sandler movies.
The Adjustment Bureau- 6.5/10 Would have given it a 7 or 8 but that was one of the worst endings i have ever seen.
Please Give - B Away We Go - B I don't know what to think about the type of movies above. They never seem to go anywhere yet I enjoy them.
Idiocracy (2006) 8.5/10 Wow, what a brilliant piece of satire. Luke Wilson participates in a military experiment on human hibernation. The experiment goes wrong, and he awakens 5 centuries later in an America that has become so dumbed down, that an ordinary person like him becomes the smartest man alive. It's Rip Van Winkle with a dark and prescient message: the world of the future will be a dystopia of corporatism, commercialism, and anti-intellectualism: think of an environmentally polluted world of Jerry Springer, populated by fat, stupid people. Released at the height of the Bush era, I'm shocked this hasn't reached the same level of popularity as Office Space, another one of my favorite stairical movies, even though it's been 5 years. As a comedy it is great, but as a film with a biting political message, it reaches a whole new level.
Wow, maybe I need to watch this again, I remember watching this movie thinking it was very forgettable... Time for me to go through my dvd shelves again...
Idiocracy is a much better satirical message than it is an actual movie. That is how I felt about it.
Finally saw 127 hours last night. Really, really good. Loved it when he sawed his arm off, I was expecting it to be really gruesome... but I kind of felt like by that point I was cheering for him to do it.
Drive Angry. 8/10. Damn it was entertaining. A Little slow at the end, but this is what Nic Cage needs to do for the rest of his career. Reference: http://www.theshiznit.co.uk/feature/behold-the-nicolas-cage-matrix.php
