Wisconsin Legislators Leave State to Prevent Vote

I, like the Wisconsin government, will not recognize/negotiate with this union, since it is my/their right to do so.

I would also like to add that those members in the union that I do not recognize, are overpaid in rep for how much they contribute to threads.

 

Wisconsin AFL-CIO is firing back at Gov. Scott Walker's Monday press conference:

"Given that Walker's refusal to negotiate in good faith was embarrassingly revealed in a phone call with someone he believed was his billionaire political benefactor David Koch, it is beyond comprehension that he would suggest Democrats are taking direction from out-of-state phone calls," says a statement from the state AFL-CIO. "Indeed, it was an out-of-state phone call from 'Koch' that directed Walker to take his 'baseball bat' to Wisconsin's working families and launch an all-out assault on the middle class."

 

Does a poll exist for Miller? I would love to see it, if it exists.

For obvious reasons mark, it is absurd for the Wisconsin government to handle state affairs on the border away from the capital just to satisfy these knuckles.

Failing to recognize and deal with reality seems to be a pretty common trait these days on the right so you'll have plenty of company. I hear sticking your fingers in your ears and talking loudly works pretty well.

Were you not referring to anything when you made the claim "stooping to their level"? If so, you managed to apologize for your inappropriate debate tactics while in the same comment accused your political opponents of using lewd terms based on nothing.

Dem Sen. Bob Jauch fired back at the guv this afternoon, accusing him of distorting the truth in "some vain attempt to suggest he's being serious" about reaching a deal.

"Never, never has there been a suggestion that Tim Cullen and I would somehow abandon the other 12 for the sake of cutting a deal," Jauch said. "That's just an outrageous lie."

Tens of thousands of people were in Madison, Wisconsin, again this weekend, continuing to protest Governor Scott Walkers attempt to do away with collective bargaining for some state employees. We're at Day 18 now, if you're keeping track.

This has been a very weird event, by U.S. standards. We don't often have protest movements that sustain their momentum, at this level, over this long a period of time. Hell, one day is usually the maximum. So it's been interesting to me to see the Madison protests evolve. Up next, apparently, are theme protests. Next Saturday, March 12, starting at noon, it's farmer-labor day at the Wisconsin Capitol Building—with farmers from across the state set to bring a tractorcade of support to the protesters in Madison. Yes. A tractorcade.

 

And BTW -- The City of Madison issued a press release on Saturday thanking protesters for another huge protest with no arrests and no citations. That's right. In 18 days, nobody has done anything worthy of arrest, or even ticketing. Good work, Wisconsin! In the Upper Midwest, even our "thugs" are well above average.

 

These intimidation tactics should not be allowed to work.

 

Walker should call out the National Guard like he said he would.
