Except why would Dwight Howard want to play here? If you are DH and you have a choice between the Lakers or Houston, why would you ever pick Houston over LA? This is precisely the type of move that LA always manages to pull off which is why they are the Lakers while the Rockets are the Rockets.
I just don't see many if any draft day trades made this year. With the uncertainty of the CBA situation as to how salaries and caps will be next year, I don't think teams will be trading much this year in the draft. If there are any draft day trades, I think more than likely it will some sort of trade of a pick for money or a pick for a pick in a draft a few years from now. so that the team is not taking on any new players (i.e. contracts) for this upcoming season.
Well the money would have to be "right." then issues like no state income tax and friendships could come into play. Supposedly, he and Courtney Lee are buds. Dwight's personality seems more like a match here in Houston. Maybe this is all wishful thinking, but since this is a wish list....
Draft Express?? That's fine. Everybody's got an opinion. They've been wrong before and so have I. My reasoning: This is Carmelo Anthony all over again, with maybe even a better motor and hopefully less selfish. Hopefully. He's the same size as Anthony/Lebron, a couple inches shorter than Durant, and he is a range player shooting it out to the 3 point line. Power Forward??? He will not be an effective post up option at the next level because of his size. So, that brings us to pick and rolls and pick and pops. He can do that, similiar to Paul Millsap for example. But this guy's got a handle. He can face up in the triple threat position and take his defender clear out to the three point line. And that is why he should play SF. In the SF role, he can post up ala CA and bludgeon most SF defenders. But he can also step out to the three point line in the triple threat position, and with his insane first step beat both small and long defenders off the dribble. He'll make a good power forward, undersized, but with great quickness to be a great situational substitute against a lot of PFs. He'll make a great small forward as he will be able to exploit his physical advantages and skillset against any opponent.
I thought we had an agreement until you counter-offered. I'm not a fan of the new proposal -- we need that small bump in draft stock! The Grizzlies can have the 6th seed if you want to see ZBO dominate so badly. Order remains: 6th seed: Memphis 7th seed: Houston 8th seed: Phoenix
