kobe's jump shot may be better but he isn't exactly ray allen in jump shooting department either. he's just shot a lot better than lebron in clutch as it appears.
I don't think LeBron has the desire to take the beating and put in all the hard work that developing a low post game requires.
He has too much pride to play the post. It would be like asking T-mac to stop taking 3 pointers in stride early in the shot clock.
If Lebron trained with paul pierce for one summer and paul pierce was willing to share the wealth lebron would come back completely unstoppable. Paul Pierce has excellent footwork in the post. Seriously wtf did coach spo call during that time out? Ok Lebron take the ball at the top of the key run a pick and roll and then do whatever. The worst part is that it just looks like random offense
Have you guys SEEN Lebron in the post? He doesn't have a semblance of a post game. His idea of a "post up" is turning around, lowering his shoulder and barging into the defender
Compare him and D Wade practicing in the post http://www.nba.com/heat/video/2010/09/30/DrillsDay3JamesandWade-1428360/index.html look how uncomfortable he looks. Lebron hasn't developed a post game, he's underutilized when he's placed down low
Eh, Lebron has clearly gotten better over the years, his shot form has improved greatly over the years, his transition defense, his man defense, free throw percentage has improved, the three point shot has improved. Lebron puts in work. The problem is that the areas where he lacks arent improving fast enough considering he is the best talent in the league. Lebron should take his turn training with hakeem in the summer, but hakeem should charge him 13 million dollars. lol
I think the main reason Lebron doesnt play in the post is because he feels like he doesnt have to. He can pretty much score at will, no one can stop him from going to the basket. I think as he get older than maybe he will work on his post game because he will see it helps make the game easier for him. Right now the game is just too easy. But man just thinking about what type of player he would be if he had a post game is scary.
This isnt ture. Lebron has become a better defender and better jump shooter over the past couple years.
Ok, so including this play in practice, Lebron has scored on 28 of his 57 post up plays this year. I seriously don't understand how you can ignore the numbers (he's tops in the league at scoring when he starts in the post) because a video of him practicing looks awkward.
I defend the guy as much as anyone on this site probably, I'm not criticizing him, just saying it would make it easier on his team since they really don't have that element. he has wade who can still hang out on the perimeter. this is more coaching than anything else. not saying move him to pf, just play him there on offense more often or just in the post. also, the magic johnson game is exactly what i was thinking about.
