Tomorrow's (3/7) key games: Blazers @ Magic Hornets @ Bulls (NOH w/o Paul and both teams on 2nd night of back-to-back) Thunder @ Grizzlies (Both teams on 2nd night of back-to-back) Rockets @ Kings Prediction: Magic, Bulls, Grizz, and Rockets win. Rockets finish night 3.5 back of NOH (4.5 if you count probable tiebreaker for NOH), 3 back of Portland (again 4 games back due to losing tiebreaker), stay 3 back of Memphis. Whoever said that Portland might be the team we catch if we catch anyone, I have to say I agree. Their schedule is so brutal.
The losses against minny/clips sting. So do the blown games against the Spurs, Bulls, Jazz, and Trailblazers. We could really be in the thick of things right about now. We've given ourselves a very small margin of error. Really hope we can sneak in bc this city needs an adrenaline shot.
I dont see anyone dropping bbut utah and they're already out. Denver is going to hold on without carmello, portland has enough talent to get by despite the schedule, the hornets are very up and down. In case anyone hasnt been watching, phoenix has played well since the trade that brought over gortat. To say houston has an uphill battle is being kind. Alot of teams to jump and every game is like a arrow to the body.
Good point. I forgot he was out this game. Orlando dropped from 4 to 1.5 point favorites...I'm assuming due to this. It's a 50/50 shot Portland loses.
I got on this thread to basically say what you did. The teams ahead of us are playing well, except Utah. Houston isnt in control of their own destiny here. Even if Houston plays very well, 2 more teams are going to have to have a bad spell for us to grab the 8th spot. Any kind of bad spell for Houston almost certainly diminishes their playoffs hopes to zero. Of the teams ahead of us, id put them in this order as far as likelihood to brick. 1) Utah 2) New Orleans Even if both bomb, that puts us in the 9th spot. Perhaps we can catch Phoenix or Memphis virtue of a comparatively easy remaining schedule.
Rockets basically control their own destiny as far as Phoenix goes with 2 head-to-head matchups. However, winning @ Phoenix tomorrow on a back-to-back looks daunting.
Channing Frye is out 2 -3 weeks, that should help. Frye had been playing some nice ball, he had a career high 15 boards last night before he got hurt. PhoenixSuns‎ Depending on what Suns orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Carter says, Suns PF Channing Frye could miss 2-3 weeks with a dislocated shoulder.

Channing Frye being out will help. He's been big for them lately and they don't have much of a legit PF option to replace him. Hopefully we can blow tonight's game open early and our starters can rest. Tomorrow will be a big game against the Suns. Memphis is being really annoying, winning against the Spurs and then Dallas last night. I'm hoping they lose at least two of their next three against OKC, NY, and Miami. This is going to be really difficult if they stay this hot. Rockets just gotta keep up what they're doing. They're hot as well, and if they keep playing this way, anything can happen.
So what will be the Suns roster? Nash/Brooks Carter/Pietrus Hill/Dudley Warrick/Gortat Lopez/Gortat Right? If Warrick starts, Scola should punish him... Scola got 26 lbs advantage over him. Frye is out is a good news for Scola... otherwise, he would have had hell of a time guarding him.
i hope the thunder take care of the grizzlies tonight .... what a letdown by both texas teams ... they're doing it on purpose
They are being as annoying as Portland was earlier. Portland was missing Roy/Camby and still kept winning... Memphis is performing great without having Gay... and going through super tough shcedule. I guess next 5 games will tell everything... who will finish ahead between the 2: Memphis's next 5 games: vs Oklahoma City - L vs New York - W @ Miami - L vs LA Clippers - W @ New York - L Houston's next 5 games: @ Sacramento - W @ Phoenix - W (will be tough, but it's must) vs San Antonio - L vs Phoenix - W vs Charlotte - W That will leave us 1 game behind with 13 games to go... will take that. Hopefully, Utah will keep falling down... and Suns will lose more games in absence of Frye.
Yeah, either Warrick at the 4 or I've also seen them move Hill over to the 4 and play small ball sometimes as well. Either way, Scola should have a field day.
Definitely possible during the course of the game. Just don't see that happening from the start. If Hill is guarding Scola... I can see Hill going into foul trouble early on.
