I know he would be a definite upgrade to our DBs, but is he worth it to go after?

Worth going after in general or worth going after money-wise? Not that I know what he wants or doesnt want money wise. Yeah, I dont know. I'd probably put a feeler or offer out there. Maybe get him as a third corner?

Clearly, the Texans are going to do what it takes to take care of their secondary issues.

And by "take care of their secondary issues", they'll draft a couple of day 3 safeties. Maybe pick up someone that couldn't make it out of the Broncos' training camp.

Bob McNair, in it to win it.

Maybe they're really saving up for Nnamdi Asomugha. :)

I will weep big tears if/when they ever win a Super Bowl. I'll jump up and down and dance and act a fool.

But I have to say, I really don't like the Houston Texans. They're about as endearing as a brown paper bag.

The problem is that he actually mentioned the Texans as a team he might want to play for, which, of course, totally disqualifies him as a player we'd like to go after.

Besides that, if we signed him, that opens up the possibility that Antwaun Molden might not be on the roster next year. And we just can't have that.

As for the rest of you, please try to hold it down in here. Bob McNair is trying to sleep.

    Thank you.

Not yet. They still want him back but haven't reached an agreement yet. Of course, if there's a lockout, we'll have to stop negotiating. :(

I share that thought. He made it clear he was going to keep player costs tightly reined in to "set a good example" for the owners going into the CBA talks a year ago...and it seems the prospect of a shortened, revenue-cut season is taking precedence. Won't drop Kubiak, won't entertain the idea of Cowher, won't talk to outside FAs.

You'd think the Texans were a state agency caught in the current budget crisis.

Somewhere in this thread (or maybe another) I mentioned that in hindsight, the franchise tag for another year would have been the way to go with Dunta. But that hindsight is knowing that we weren't able to sign another veteran corner.

Don't forget, that kind of change would be TRAW-MATIC and would set us back after our 5-year journey that has gotten us all the way to 6-10!

#1 priority right now has to be signing Vonta Leach. Without him our run game will suffer greatly. A safety and CB in free agency are a must, especially if they want to move Quinn to FS. The problem is that I don't have any faith in this organization when it comes to free agency. They have never acquired anyone who has helped this team significantly.

Wade Phillips has said the Texans have enough DL to play his 3-4. Cushing and a hopefully healthy Ryans are locks for the 2 inside LBs. That leaves two LBs and four DBs to be addressed in the draft and FA.

Seeing how rookie CBs get abused, one has to think that the Texans will be looking for a lock down CB1 in FA. This has to be their highest priority. Signing a FA CB1 leaves Kareem Jackson as the CB2 and Troy Nolan and Glover Quinn as the safeties. This group needs to be coached up if possible or the defensive woes will continue.

With the first two picks, I see the Texans drafting two defensive play makers, a LB and a DB.

The Texans signed FAs of note: LG Wade Smith and LDE Antonio Smith. Even though these signings worked out great, the Texans still need to do a better job. In particular, this offseason the Texans have big needs on the D that have to be filled in FA.

Agreed No Worries. . .In addition,..I'm kinda happily surprised Ward signed with us, if you put Tate ahead of slaton (and I don't see why not)...then time to let slaton go.
