OK, so what's your point? Sheen happened to be good in that movie- he was also good in Wall Street and Men At Work, and he is funny on the ...Men show. The sum total of his career is that he's an average actor with some good moments. But I guess I'm supposed to believe that he's a thespian of the highest order and that All in the Family is a horrible show, right? Where do we grow these people??? I should use your idiotic quote about AITF in my signature - it is really that noteworthy for being that dumb. Saying that the British version made sense because they're Socialist but that, what, the U.S. version didn't make sense because....let me get this straight.. we weren't dealing with racism, homophobia, left vs. right political divide, and women's rights?? I have to conclude that you're joking because you obviously can't be that ignorant about a show in which moralistic judgments...wait, where were they again? Who exactly is making these judgments you speak of? Seriously, can you pile up any more fail on top of the steaming heap you already have built and stand proudly next to???? SOAPBOX: Charlie Sheen's an irresponsible dad who has a documented history of abusing women (yeah, like they all made it up, right?) which we wouldn't even know or care about if he didn't MAKE A BIG DEAL ABOUT IT OR BRING IT IN THE OPEN!! He's an a** who's riding a wave of popularity for all the wrong reasons- unless you're in your 20s and can't get laid, so you worship the Sheen for his p*rn star connections, his over-the-top drug use, and his ramblings which we're supposed to believe are prophetic. I'm assuming you fall into this category, unless you seriously want me to believe that you're in your 40s and worship him this way. We get it- Charlie Sheen is your role model- terrific- way to go- I guess I'm just missing out- I keep wondering what that hole, that void in my life is... oh, yeah, I get it, it's that I don't "get" Charlie Sheen!!!!!!!!!! That's it!!!!!! Now I can get on with my life. Yawn. A lot of Sound and Fury, signifying nothing. As I mentioned in my very first post in this thread, let him do what he wants, but he's got kids that young living in his house, for f**k's sake, get a clue, Charlie! Grow the f**k up. Good luck on that next sitcom- oh, I forgot, he'll start a reality show and the sheep will follow. Kudos, Charlie! Here's to your career: In pace requiescat.
Well my point was that he was good in that movie. I'm trying to crack open that coconut of yours and figure out how "untalented" or even "average" actors give "good performances." Unless he's like Mr Ed and chewing on peanut butter, logic seems to credit good performances to good actors. But I do have KIDS IN THE HOUSE so I better not be too radical in my thinking. FOR THE KIDS. AITF was ****. I challenge you to sit through an entire episode in 2011 without the thought seeping into your cranium how contrived and droll the supposedly "edgy" dialogue is. Oh ****, the repairman is PUERTO RICAN??? How will Archie handle it! What lesson will MIDDLE AMERICA learn from enlightened Hollywood about tolerance this week?? Your hero Norman Lear went on to foist jive talking George Jefferson on America as well as the brilliantly nuanced vision of the seminal white "honkey" Tom Willis. I could give more credence to your laudatory on AITF and Hollywood if it wasn't a racist institution that marginalized blacks, Asians and other minorities at the very time it was ramming this "enlightened" fare down people's throats. You're taking Charlie Sheen awfully personal. You're also taking people who decline in joining your virtual stone throwing very personal. Obviously the more people you have in your torch carrying mob the funner it is, but I'm going to ask you to refrain going all ad hominen on everyone who disagrees with you. There's plenty of scarlet letters to go around for everyone. Here's a bit of advice to you and your kids. Acta non verba. Slamming Charlie wont make your own life any better.

So, what I am to take away from all of this is that I have no right to pass judgment on Charlie Sheen for his actions. Correct?
