For this to be happening in game 61 is disturbing. I gave the Heat a pass for their two early season losses to the Celts because they were so rag-tag. Now is when Miami should be coming together instead of falling apart. Still, if they get the #1 seed, the Heat will make the ECFs before they face a team that can beat them.
it's funny, if all you saw was the box score, you'd probably wonder how miami was even in it with orlando going 16-29 on 3's and miami going 3-16. it's the completely embarrassing nature of the loss that is so bad because an orlando team hitting 16 3's is hard to beat. of course, once they were up 24, orlando hit about 6 of those 3's because miami decided the game was over. one more heat fan fun fact. the heat's last 7 losses are by a combined 27 points with no loss by more than 5 points. for the next non-locked out season, they might just be one good role player away from being dominant.
well, orlando can clearly beat them so unless the hawks are somehow the 4 seed, the heat could easily lose to anyone the 2nd round. and let's face it, they're not getting the #1 seed at this point. not only would boston would have to just stop caring to give up a 3 game lead, but with the heat's next 10 games, they're not going the 17-4 or so they would have to go to even hope to edge the celtics. given the next 10 games, they'll be quite fortunate to even be the 2 seed and with games like this, their 4 game lead on orlando doesn't seem so big. lebron and wade are the only 2 guys on this team you can trust in a big game, and apparently you can't trust wade if it's against boston. watching chalmers and bibby brick 3's all playoffs is going to suck. best case scenario, they lose to boston in the ECF with lebron having a big series. worst case scenario (i hope), all the haters get what they want and chicago and rose beat miami and lebron with lebron having a bad series. most likely, they lose in the 2nd round with lebron having a pretty good series. they just aren't going to win the close games this season. maybe with another year and anybody who can hit a big 3, that will change. or the hollinger theory plays out and they actually hit a shot and another team misses one in a close game. or the team plane crashes.
it is disturbing. but it's not that they have no capabilities to beat these top teams (they get big leads on them), their problem RIGHT NOW is holding onto that big lead. bulls, knicks, orlando. if they just focus a little more, they blow these teams out. but instead, they act cocky. it's embarrassing if you're a heat player right now.
This makes no sense. Big leads turn into small leads before you lose. If Miami's problem is concentration, then they would've started regaining that concentration before they lose the lead entirely. Right now, IMO there's not enough of a sample size to judge the reasoning behind it.
when you start relaxing, and lose momentum, it's hard to regain it. it's a habit of theirs, and a bad habit is hard to change if you let it persist. they star jacking up jumpers, don't run their sets, leaving 3pt shooters open... like i said, in the NBA, momentum is easy to lose, and hard to gain. 3 of the last 4 games this has happened. and it's not new. this started happening in their last game vs orlando before the break. they won that game and i guess, got cocky thinking they can turn it on anytime. they don't have the experience, say like the lakers, to be able to turn it on and off at anytime as a team. they need to fix this b/c it's a "weird" problem to have. they shouldn't panic too much b/c if they play their style of ball, they can beat these teams. but games aren't played for 2.5 quarters.
Ha, they all did. Chris slouched over, hand on his cheek while talking. Wade basically spoke up on behalf of all of them. James answered a few questions then pretty much sat there rubbing his face/eyes(No, he wasnt crying or didnt appear so, ha.) IraHeatBeat "It's a trend. We've had leads and we've let it go away," Wade said. "I'm not used to being on teams like that. So it's mind boggling."
Bosh taking this lose so hard could be a very good thing for the Heat. He needs to be more assertive and aggressive. This loss could be the kick in the rump that gets him to take it up a notch or two.
