I was reading through the post-game comments after the Clippers game and it sounded like people were jumping off bridges (or bandwagons) because we lost a game. We have 19 games left. We need to win probably 12 of those games at least to get up to the #8. Which means we have 7 more games to lose. So all you bandwagon fans, try not to slit your wrists after another loss. There will be more to come. Interesting to note, of those 19 games, 12 are home games, and 7 are away. If we just took care of our house, we'd be in great shape.
ummm i just think fans are upset about this season....every time it looks like the rockets are on some type of run they lose.....this has been the story all season long losing to terrible teams so its not necessarily bandwagoning.....lol @ cut your wrist
Eh you do know we are talking about the Rockets right? The team that never fails to disappoint. They always do this. Build up a little bit of hope then they choke. This team isnt making the playoffs this year. No way. Maybe next year if can find a big and team plays consistent defense.
We are absolutely fine. People are overreaction right now. We have gone 5-1 after the break... that's good enough for me. We win next home game against Indiana who will be on a back to back situation while we rest couple days. Then beat SAC on the road.. which is also not stretching much as they don't have Landry anymore... plus no Evans for now. So, we win those 2 and we will be 7-1 after the break. Plus, I think we have played really well recently.. some players have stepped up their games... yesterday was just an unfortunate game. We were tired as hell and did not put in effort at the defensive end. We are one of those teams that can defend well enough if we put in effort... we just did not had gas to put that much in to. Plus, they have talent.. they are a decent team at home.. actually 17-15 I believe.. Plus, they are tall... once again, we can up for such things sometimes when we are giving 100%. We can go after those rebounds and defend teams when we are rested with the hard work.. we are not skilled in those areas but putting effort makes up for it. And it's hard to do that when you have 3 b2b's in a row. There were more positive signs before Clippers game than there were negatives in the clippers game.. so I am still optimistic.. I still this team will finish above .500.. and possibly make playoffs. 11-8 looks minimum... I believe they will go 12-7 at least.
Fourth game in five nights with travel time in between each game, too. They were obviously tired and obviously off. No biggie, especially since the Suns and Hornets lost too; though it would've been extra great to win! Regardless, many games left.
Well, you are calculating that it will take 43 wins to get into the playoffs, when it looks to be more like 45. Let's face it, losing to the Clippers is never good. We're supposed to take care of the sub .500 teams at the very least if we want to make the playoffs. Maybe this loss was entirely due to fatigue, but it was still disappointing. I definitely hope we can bounce back, but the shift in momentum was kind of a bummer.
Exactly, people expect a 22 game win streak every time we get a decent win streak going. We are gonna lose some games people, it happens. We were playing our 4th game in 5 days and we still fought to the very end.
Rockets wont be able to sustain a winning streak. Rockets wont be able to protect the house. Rockets wont be able to beat teams what they should beat. Rockets wont make the playoffs. All Because Rockets are no good.
It could take 45, maybe more. I was looking at the teams just above us and their schedules. Utah has 11 more road games and Phoenix has 12. And they are both playing like crap lately. Maybe 43 could do it.
People are passionate and they hate seeing the Rockets lose, I don't see how that makes them bandwagon fans. Regardless of what they say, they will still watch every game that is to come and cheer for the Rockets.
We are not fine...we have 20 games to go and if the season ended today we would not be in the playoffs. Again, we aren't fine, but I have been a fan as long as i could love a sports team and I believe that they will put together enough wins to make the playoffs. If not, oh well I'll be a fan next year no matter what. Sure, I might be more frustrated but I'll still be listening to bill, bull and baby seal night in and night out. I get as much enjoyment watching our team take the lakers to the 7th game as I do watching young players exceed national broadcasters expectations or going to the stats page on NBA.com and seeing Kevin Martin near the top of that list. I check clutch fans more than you can count on both hands and yes it is a problem. But it's a problem I prefer to have and people around me just have to deal with it. Luckily i have people who are as big of fans as I am in my everyday life. Being able to talk about the rockets during the season or in the offseason makes easy conversation no matter the time of year. I laugh when people say they don't follow any sports. They miss out on sooooooooooo much! Ps: reading that stuff above makes it seem like I'm fit for a straight jacket. Oh well...sue me.
Yeah, maybe. Bandwagon fan = someone who only roots for a team that wins. Here today, gone tomorrow. True fan = someone who loves their team regardless of whether they win or lose. Hopes passionately for a win, but has been a fan for so long, they understand ups and downs. I yell and swear when we lose too, but it only lasts a few minutes before perspective settles in.
Damn I wish you would have posted this sooner or else I wouldn't have cut my wrist last night after the loss
How the hell can a 31-32 team with no star have bandwagon fans? Anybody still following the Rockets or posting on this board at this point are the exact opposite of bandwagon fans.
