i won't deny he is a better fit for their system, because his passing game looks completely different with their style of offense. but any r****d that tries to undermine a 20/5 season just last year doesn't know jack ****.
he was undrafted for a reason. his lack of grasp when it came to the fundamentals is what held him back. he had a pretty good collegiate career and a mediocre to poor early tenure in the NBA. if your going to make an analogy , make sure it stands ground. brooks was drafted for specific talents such as his speed and shooting ability which we all saw improve vastly, not only that, he did it after a season, even less actually since he barely saw playing time his rookie yr
What fundamentals are you talking about? For that matter, Mike James was a defensive monster early on in his career with the Pistons. I don't understand what argument you're making. It's not relevant to the one hit wonder season analogy which I just made.
your right, i forgot we were here to pile up assets!! Its seems to have evaded my mind how legitimiate we were as well given that they deserve godly status. You people are too gullible. same peanut gallery banking on Yao coming back and saving the day for 4 yrs.
your right. Because basketball fundamentals is all about being good/decent defensively at your position, i can see how that translates to ben wallace. Augmenting your case for mike james by using the pistons as an example has to be by far the biggest fail in a while. The only time a team with 4 starters close to the same level and non superstars played together so cohesively they brought the quintisential meaning of team play back into the picture. Mike James was not one of those guys buddy.
Homework: watch the end of the third and the 4th quarters of yesterday's Bos-Phi game. AB lead- and I mean lead- Phoenix on a 22-2 run when they down by about 30. He put the team on his back and willed them back from a blowout to make it a close game.
In a vacumn, Brooks is probably better offensively than Lowry. Of course, I admit I think in a vacumn Iverson is still better than Lowry. Other factors have to be considered, such as defense ( which is half the game), how well one fits with the team, and the fact that we're not dumping 8 million plus on a backup. Just as the Rockets had to make a decision on Scola-Landry, they had to make one on Lowry-Brooks - if anything, even more urgently as Brooks did not take sitting on the bench as well as Landry did. And with how we've been finally starting to win, and with the way Lowry's also going off, I don't have a problem choosing Lowry.
It was never a close game. never got the lead down to 7 and when the team was on it's run AB turned the ball over (per usual) and killed the drive.
Yeah bro numbers mean a whole lot, just look at what a difference maker Abdur-Rahim was. Fact: Rockets have been a negative when Brooks has been on the court for each of the last two seasons, and a positive when Lowry has been on the court. That's the only stat that matters. Btw Brooks is a perfect match for the worst defensive team in the league LOL.
I love how this cat is still defending AB. I'm almost convinced that he's Brooks' cousin or something. Lowry is miles better than Brooks now. Is this guy even watching games ? Freakin comical.
What the hell are you talking about? Are you just talking in circles but using more sophisticated vocabulary so you don't look totally clueless? First of all. How the hell is any of what you are talking about related to my initial one hit wonder season analogy? There is correlation or relevance whatsoever. Second of all, you claimed Mike James had bad fundamentals and what not. Then you go on about how defence is not one of the main fundamentals, then you go on about how Mike James being on Pistons had nothing to do with their championship run. You do realize Rasheed Wallace notoriously nicknamed the backcourt defence of Hunter and James due to their tenacious and hardnosed effort on defence right? For that matter, you say Mike James is fundamentally bad, but Brooks defense is fundamentally bad as well. You know, the other half of basketball? As Dave said, I'm convinced you're flinging **** to the wall and hoping something sticks. You literally did not reply to any of what I initially said. I'm convinced he is trolling, or he has the DD-ness in him.
I love how these casual "highlight reel" fans think that defense is less than half the game, lol... I guess ESPN is to blame.
As good as Lowry has played this year, I have to say that AB is not clear-cut better than him. AB is a better shooter. Lowry is a better passer. Lowry is a better defender. Lowry hustles more and puts in 100% more often than Brooks. "In the last four games since Brooks was traded to Phoenix, Lowry is averaging 18.3 points, 8.3 assists, 48.2 percent shooting and two turnovers per game. He has also made 10 threes." That's damn good.
Perhaps he got so much shame after seeing his points proven worong each time more obviously, that he auto-banned the DD nick and created a clone (if he didn't have one from long time ago) out of shame.
