It would be a horrible mistake to send any troops into Libya, and if we ever did that, I would condemn the Obama administration for the rest of their tenure just like I did the Bush administration for invading Iraq.

But don't you froth at the mouth over a SUGGESTION that they MIGHT do so.

Let's ask Bush & Obama's secretary of defense about what he thinks about this type of thing.

Certainly a ringing endorsement of 2001-2009.

Let me reiterate this point with graphical evidence:

Every indication I've seen from the Admin is that they don't want to fight.

I gotta say I'm pretty impressed they got some nice graphics going on in that banner despite being in the middle of a revolution and all.

Obama is no different than Bush in his foreign policy so I don't see why this thread was really needed. America is a self-proclaimed addict like Charlie Sheen, you gotta do what you gotta do to keep partyin.

It would actually be a strong strategic move to invade Libya, the country layout and relatively small population would make it easy to control. Funny how Canada also sent warships, didn't even know we had any:p, ...sad that we've became America's tail.

High oil prices affect everyone's bottom line. Hence, even Canada is responding.

That banner was pretty cool,...anyways granted everything possible is a "might", with all possibilities on the table,..political blah blah but you don't send 3 ships for nothing...

My thing is why even send them at all? There is zero reason for Obama to spend resources we don't have at this and more American lives at risk. There is ZERO threat to us...There is no retaliatory reasoning...We have no business sending war ships there...

Even the country that is an ally to many on the far left (venezuela) have labeled the Obama's military action as "war-mongering"...

We shall see...Hopefully nothing will happen, but . . .

Of course we're going to get involved in Libya. There's a line about it in the Marine Hymn.

    God, I hope I'm wrong.

It's clear that any foreign intervention period. Any whatsoever is always going to be to protect personal nationalist interests. Not for this freedom crap. I hate it when I hear people preaching that the war in the Middle East is actually a war for freedom and democracy.

Why isn't China? If anything they should be the most ready to "save Muslim lives".

I know the wingers have little to criticize Obama on at this particular moment, but let the sabre rattling start at least before you start this thread.

I'm with you on all of this...except this. Venezuela criticizes nearly everything the US does. This isn't anything unique.
