For all of you who grew up listening to Gene & Jim doing Rockets games on the radio and who miss them, this is a story I put together 10 years ago for the Rockets telecast. Enjoy.

Things will never be the same again without those two.

    Thanks for the video.

Thanks for sharing! I always turned down the volume on the tv (when the games were on tv because back in the day not all of them were) and tuned in Jim and Gene. See my sig.

Jim is a nice guy but he was not a good color analyst, he had no insight as far as schemes or strategy or general analysis. He just ran off stats.

neither does Craig Ackerman. I'm trying to enjoy him but he makes it so hard.

Loved Gene and Jim. I started listening to them in the 7th grade because my parents wouldn't get cable ("if we get cable you won't do your homework and just watch rockets games") and to this day I still miss those 2. Craig's ok but it's just not the same.

2 years ago when Gene and Jim came back and did the 2nd half of the broadcast for a Rockets vs Denver game was awesome

Wow, that brings back some memories of when I used to listen to them as a little kid. I used to listen to the broadcasts on an old transistor radio under the covers when I was supposed to be asleep. That little sign-off at the end that Foley did really reminded me of the old days. Gene's voice absolutely rocked for doing pbp on the radio. They are truly missed Rocket OG's. lol. :)

Remind me again why Gene Peterson and Jim Foley aren't in the Hall of Fame?
Combined with the annual Guy Lewis snub, I think the voters have it in for Houston...

(And apparently they don't have Wikipedia entries either!)
