**** it! It's his life. If he wants to snort blow and bang p*rn-stars, so be it. I'm not paying for it, and it doesn't otherwise confront me.

Since we're in the topic of people he's "let down", what about his kids and family that are affected by his exploits if only because of the attention it gets?

Not that I ultimately care because it doesn't affect me remotely (don't watch his show much, but if I was a fan I'd be agreeing 1100 percent). Just thought it was an odd comment.

Dick Van Dyke is another good example. I'm pretty sure he's still alive, too.

Sure. I know some are fond of saying that if a person has X amount of drinks per day, they are an alcoholic, but I think that's a load of bull, personally. I know some people who literally start the day out with drinks- yes, I would probably call them alcoholics. The ones who can't get through a day without many drinks. I feel that there are others who just like to get buzzed a few times a week, and if it doesn't affect their work, let them do what they want. As long as they don't drive drunk, act obnoxious towards others, or, again, let it affect their work, that's their choice. I can't drink like in my younger days, but somedays, it just feels good to hit the local bar for a few ice cold Shiners or whatever.

To the other poster, sure, he's probably let his family down, too- but that also depends if his kids are living with him or if they're already grown and out of the house (no idea- I don't follow celebrities' personal lives for the most part)- if they're living with him and he's acting like this around them, then, yes, he's setting a bad example.

    These 2 clips are bi-winning.

    Charlie Sheen's GMA interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5aSa4tmVNM&feature=player_embedded

    ------------------------

Charlie Sheen just wrapped up a LIVE no holds barred interview with Mike Walters from the backyard of his L.A. mansion -- ripping more people than ever ... and even accepting some blame himself.

Sheen blasted CBS honcho Les Moonves for not firing "Men" creator Chuck Lorre ... and then scoffed at the studio for giving him waaaay too much money.

Sheen also ripped a false report that he checked himself into rehab this morning -- because he obviously isn't at a rehab facility -- and the at-home interview is all the proof he needs.

Among the hits – Charlie explained that he “hopes” his five kids ask him about all of the drug use one day … so he can fill them in on all of the “epic” stories.

Sheen also explained that his father, Martin Sheen, should stop passing judgment, because Charlie’s a grown ass man ... and can make his own life choices.

Charlie also told a story about how he woke up in the middle of downtown L.A. by himself when he was 7 years old … and had to find his own way home.

He's self destructing, in front of the entire world, yet some here still admire him.

reading about his exciting life makes my dull life a little bit better. things i wouldn't do myself but it's always fun to see/read about it. kinda like seinfeld. in real life i would hate those characters but on tv theyre some of my favorites.

and once again, his kids are not "suffering" as much as some of you are letting on. kids in the ghetto with parents who are drug addicts etc. are suffering. Sheen's kids are taken care of financially. I would rather have a crap load of money than a moral father. dont think MJs kids are miserable.

seriously, the guy's a douche. he's jumped the shark; and jumping the shark has jumped the shark. you can tell me he's entitled and free and rich and all that...that's just fine. i'm not interested in locking him up. i'm not interested in celebrating him, either. doesn't change the fact he's a huge douche. dude, you're pushing 50...man up already.

Dick Van Dyke is not a good example. Dick Van Dyke was an alcoholic but he said that it wasn't because of ever getting plastered, but just that he needed those one or two drinks a day and realized he was addicted. He never fell down, or had blackouts or weekend long binges. Van Dyke has said it was all at home and the one martini became two or three and it was every day so he felt he was an alcoholic.

He went into treatment and has been sober since then.

It's not really comparable to Charlie Sheen or even William Frawley.

One or two drinks a day doesn't make you an alcoholic. Having one drink and not being able to stop does.

Well needing alcohol to function normally makes one an alcoholic. I'm not trying to say that Dick Van Dyke was or wasn't one.

That is what Dick Van Dyke himself has said. I guess he couldn't stop at one and it grew to two or three, but he was never a pass-out drunk, or anything like that, yet he felt that he physically needed those drinks and thus felt he was an alcoholic and sought treatment.

If you'd like to argue about that with Dick Van Dyke that's fine with me.

I drink a glass or two of wine almost every day, as well as the occasional beer, tequila, margarita, vodka gimlet, or whatever every once in a while as well. I'm not trying to say how much makes a person an alcoholic, just that if you require it to function normally then you probably are one.

Some people would say that feeling like you need that one or two drinks every day makes you an alcoholic.

Charlie was on Stern this morning and I missed it!

They said he was pretty normal on the interview. I'll catch it on the replay later today, but I was just curious if anyone heard it.

But if one or two drinks per day is bad for you then why does the USDA set the recommended max per day as being 2/drinks, no more that 14 per week?

    "USA: 1-2 units/day (14–28g/day), not to exceed 14 units/week (196g/week)[17"
