http://www.nba.com/statistics/playe...R48&qualified=N&yearsExp=-1&splitDD=All Teams Saw his fan page had a picture up wanted to share. So he gets named player of the week and this. Keep up the good work.
Nobody says "I to be Mitch Richmond when I grow up." Then again if he even had a Rik Smits down low, he could be Reggie Miller. At least in reputation.
I still think he deserves some praise though, aside from Green he's in elite company him and Gordan are the only non allstars amongst the top 10 and only players that do not currently have max contracts or will receive them when eligible.
Superstar-level scorer. No question. Yeah, I wish he brought more to the table than just that, but let's be realistic, guys: We don't need a guy who can score points in bunches. We've already got that. We need a defense which doesn't suck.
Basically, we need a power forward who plays actual defense (sorry, I love Scola as much as the next guy, but he doesn't), and most of all, we need a real center.
Ha well my intention of this post was to give him praise not talk about what our team is lacking haha.
He could drop 40 a game but only the true fans will appreciate what K-Mart brings to the table. The fair weather fans will always look at his faults, and criticize him. Player of the week! Fools gold? I think not! Just in case ya'll didn't know: He is a scorer, he scores points, he fills it up, draws foul & frustrates the opposition. Ok his D is not the best but once again...he is a scorer, he scores points etc. And a Damn good scorer, I am proud to have him on my Rockets.
Martin is so smooth at scoring that he would drop 35 points and you wouldn't even realize it until the end of the game when the stats are read. We're lucky to have him.
so why is Melo better than Martin again? Does he play better defense? Shoot a higher percentage? No matter what Martin does, it's always, "he doesn't make his teammates better", what a load of crap.
I really wish the Rockets had a superstar and a legit big added to this roster. Groundbreaking with that obvious comment I know, rolleyes to myself. What I'm saying is, Martin would be even more dangerous not being the number one. Morey knew what he was doing getting Martin, he knew he would be the perfect compliment because of his efficiency. If Morey can't land that #1, Martin may in a sense go to waste.
Imagine the rockets without kevin martin, would we still not have a need for a guy that can score in bunches? We would be awful, who would be our consistent scoring threat? We would have an awful defense and awful offense. Minus the 20 - 30 Kmart gives us every game and replace it with evenally distributed shots for everyone else, consider kmart efficiency, that 20 - 30 points off of 7 - 13 could be 14 point off of 5 - 16 shooting.
