http://benmaller.com/2011/02/blake-griffin-couldnt-lose-slam-dunk-contest/ I would not be shocked. Some of those scores which Blake got looked intentional to knock DeRozan out.
I wouldn't be surprised either, the media has SO much hype on him, that it would be hard to see him lose.
Yeah, sounds like it to me. I know it's just a dunk contest but the NBA needs to be careful. Some people are easily going to say 'If they are willing to fix the dunk contest...'
Something most people have suspected. Now that there's legitimate proof, I hope the players who get invited refuse to participate in a rigged competition.
when he was going for the dunk off the rebound off the side of the rim and it took him about 8 tries to get it, and he was still awarded a 50, I stopped watching it right then. You can NOT fail that many times and still get a perfect score. (correct me if I'm wrong about getting a 50, it was that or a 45, either way it was embarrassing)
They already made a commercial from it. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cbBMjayrTHM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Exactly. I'm not surprised by the news at all. Most people on this board (including me) were saying the contest was rigged.
It pisses me off that Griffin's dunk is getting so much attention. It wasn't even that good. The media's really making me start to dislike Griffin.
I want to see a dunk contest with Griffin, LerBon, Dwight, and Nate... and add Kobe or Carter in there for good measure. The media and NBA will have their heads explode trying to figure out who to give the trophy to.
Serge Ibaka took off from behind the FT line and got a crap score. DeRozan did a couple of sick dunks, and screwed as well. No doubt this one was a total setup from the beginning.
When Blake got a 46 on that weak windmill, conveniently just high enough to get him to the next round, I had a suspicion it was rigged. Hearing about the KIA contract after basically confirms it.
Of course the contest was rigged. Just like it was rigged a few years ago in order to get the "Kryptonate" gig for the final.
