We want that. If Phoenix makes the playoffs we get a much better draft pick this year. It's win-win for us. Either they make it and we get a draft pick six slots higher than Orlando's, or we make the playoffs and get a shot at the Spurs.
Agreed, I'm rooting for the Suns too (against everybody except us). We need to shoot for the 7-5 seeds and hope Phoenix is 8th. It can happen!

I'm sorry but as a fan, i could never root against my team to make the playoffs, I don't care how bad we get swept in a first round series. In NBA anything is possible, Goldenstate upsetted Dallas, and our shorthanded team took the lakers to 7 games 2 years ago. Plus as a basketball fan in general, nothing is more exciting than seeing my home team in crucial playoff games. I guess if the draft is deep and the first 1 - 5 picks are gauaranteed to be superstar players than I can see it but it's so hard to predict and plus everyone is saying this draft is not deep.

I would rather make the playoffs. I think it is good for our players to have that playoff experience. If they put a run together to make it, that means they will be playing well. Anything can happen in a 7 game series. They have to play the games. Nobody gets bonus points because they are a higher seed. Looking at schedules i can see Den, Utah, Mem, and Por coming back to the pack over the next 2 weeks. Our 2 upcoming games with Pho are going to be very interesting. Say what you want about not having a all-star on our team, but our guys play and fight hard for the full 48. If they can get hot shooting 3s we can beat almost anybody in a series.
We got decent shot at making playoffs. There is a good chance we will leave Memphis/Utah and Phoenix behind us. But really, anybody can fall. No one knows what will happen to Denver. Portland has brutal schedule rest of the way. Memphis next 6 games are super tough and they are without Gay. Utah has lost 15 of last 20. Phoenix has played 5 less road games than us; while we play 12 games against .500+, they play 16. We will have our opportunities. Last thing we need is losing to teams below .500. Just keep winning easy games and surprise here or there and we will be fine. So we can make it for sure, but will have to earn it. Next question: Should we make it? Absolutely! Anytime you have a coach like Rick, you should always aim for playoffs. We will give troubles to any team that comes on our way.
Who knew that PHX would sweet Spurs? I really thought that Spurs will control the tempo and make PHX inefficient every single game. It's sports. Anything can happen. Sometimes all you need is a hot shooter or a cold shooter on the other team. Sometimes, these playoffs actually grows players. Never would have thought Brooks could do what he really did against Lakers. I will say that any team in NBA can beat any team in NBA if they just play smart basketball while giving everything they got. I can count on our team giving everything they have in the playoffs. While, our guys don't wanna defend but as long as we defend with effort, we are good like last night. I expect this team to play a lot better defense whole game when playoffs come.
