I'm going to venture that you were a big fan of the Steve 'Franchise' offensive game plan as well?

Are you no longer disputing the fact that Brooks played an important role on a good team? It must really piss you off. Sorry 'bout that.

So I guess the answer is yes? I'm guessing you were one of the people fortelling exactly how trading Francis would come back to bite us in the ass? How'd that work out?

Tell me exactly what this "good team" won? Or is an annual first round playoff exit your definition of "success"? And why do you feel personal attacks qualify as a valid defense of Brooks?

I like your sig. Tells the truth about why our defense is so bad. Morey must be listening to you because he traded away one of our worst defenders and added size in the middle that will hopefully pan out.

You are right that Brooks can play an important role on a good team, but that role is probably 6th man with a team full of good defenders around him.

Haven't been a big Francis fan since '00-'01, before the rule changes allowed for zone defense. Not that it is in any way relevant.

The "good team" that Brooks was a major part of won a first round series, the first for a Rocket team in about 12 years, and then took the eventual champs to the brink in round 2.

I don't think I've really made any personal attacks on you, although you probably deserve it after your trolling in this thread. It's like you don't even know basic facts about the team, as evidenced by what I just had to explain to you, for at least the second time. I think I've been far more patient with you than should be expected. Sorry if that offends you.

Oh great "The Freak" who deigns to grace me with his knowledge, we are all clearly not worthy the munificence of your time. Thank you for showering us poor hoi polloi with your vast accumulated knowledge of the playoffs two years ago. Had I known you were talking about the year when he had 35 starts, averaged 11 points, and was the sixth leading scorer on the team I would have agreed. In fact I have done this already and think he is great in that role. If you would have wanted to get a little giddy and upgrade him to be even the fourth option on your team I would have been behind you and agreed, he is a very fine player in that role. Again, I stated that already.

You see, I thought we were talking about him leading a team for a full season, as he did last year, when he led the Rockets to the lottery. But yeah, as I stated already if you want him starting a quarter of your games and mostly coming off the bench like he did in the year that you are referring to, he is a fine player. Perfect for getting hot in a couple of games as he did that year in the playoffs when he had to step up.

The problem, I guess, is one of definitions. For me, being a sixth option and starting for a fraction of a year is not my definition of leading a team through the full season. But I'm willing to bend. I wholeheartedly accept your alternate definition and agree he is a great "leader". Can we also agree that Speedy Claxton was great in "leading" the 02-03 Spurs to a championship? How about Tyron Lue "leading" the 2000-2001 Lakers to a championship with his great playoff games? Boy, there sure are a lot of great leaders out there when they get help from role players like Shaq and Kobe and Tony Parker and Tim Duncan and Yao Ming and Ron Artest!

Funny stuff here -- Jared Dudley interviews Brooks following his debut with the Suns:

AB is Fortunate to be able to Learn and Develop from a player like Steve Nash (A Future Hall of Famer and one of the Best Point Guards in the World). I would welcome back Brooks next year although this season has been challenging and turbulent for him primarily due to injury and concerns about his positioning within the Rockets.

Brooks need not worry about next season, as he will get a Sweet Contract whomever he plays for, because the NBA knows that AB is a Very Special Player and a Big Reason why the Rockets played Very Well in the Playoffs vs the Trailblazers and the Former Champion Lakers.

This recent adjustment may be a Blessing in Disguise for his own Personal Growth and hopefully for the Rockets also.

Thanks for sharing that. LOL -- I would want Dudley as a teammate. "Can we count on you to get on twitter more now that you're a Phoenix Sun?"

And interesting throwaway comment about how different the pre-game stretching is there. Resonates with all that talk of their superior medical/training staff.

Otto, in a lot of the stats you posted about AB's horrific volume approach, he looks not bad compared to Kobe Bryant. I'm just saying I found that surprising and not a tell-tale sign of inferiority.

I could see him joining the Blazers. Rich Cho should try to dump Miller over the summer, and lure Brooks back to Oregon.

Don't know why the Kings would want Brooks.

Doesn't fit with the team they have.

Ended 3-8, couple of triples, 4 assists and 0 turnovers.:grin::grin: Typical!!!

Please post it for us when Drag-his-pivot-foot has 4 assists and zero turnovers in game. Not sure it's happened in his 3-year career so far.
