Dumb! Neither T-Mac nor Yao were considered "injury-prone" when they were aquired. However, once it became obivious that the WERE injury-prone players whom you could not count on for an entire season Morey did his best he could to aquire a superior supporting cast to hopefully rideout the injuries in hopes of a playoff run. Adding Scola, Lowery, Battier and Artest via trades and Brooks and Landry via the draft was all he could realisticly do to preserve what hope they had in a championship.
If Nate McMillan becomes available, the Rockets need to do everything they possibly can to bring that man in. If that doesn't happen, then I really wouldn't mind giving somebody like Brian Shaw or Mario Elie a chance.

We should have signed Thibodeau when we had a chance... I really do not know... I voted Van Gundy just because I do not see other options, but I do not think he is the best choice. I think the best option is going to be to gamble on someone with little experience like Cassell or Elie.
Bill Lambieer or Cooper would be my choice. Head coaching experience with difficult personalities in the wnba. Both were tough, defensive minded players and coaches. Another guy I would like to give a shot to is Cleamons.
Since when a ball hog, weak, 5'10" PG with crappy court vision is a difference maker?, well perhaps you're right, lately, he was a NEGATIVE difference maker with dumb plays that irrtated a lot of fans watching the games.
Les Alexander wanted to see a more run and gun style of basketball instead of those 82-79 victories in the JVG era. I do not see the Rockets going in the direction of a defensive coach. I would like to see someone like Mario Elie or I guess Elston Turner be coach.
Whe TMac was on the Rockets, it was already obvious that both TM and Yao were injury prone, that's what I warned in realgm forums. I didn´t suggest getting rid of both, I suggested trading at least one of them, while they still had very high trade value, cause it was a terrible and unwise risk to have BOTH highest paid players being injury-prone, in the same roster, at the same time. Time confirmed my warning as correct, yet fans back then got as angry of you with the suggestion, and even more.
For all of you "Let's Tank" guys out there, hire T-Mac as head coach. We'd have great picks for years.
Its got to be Adelman till he decides he doesnt want the job any longer. He is the best out there. I dont like pushing guys like these away unless there is a clear up and coming replacement out there. Someone who makes you think it is a good decision to change directions. Right now only Elston Turner seems to be someone who could do something different here and positive. I dont know how they feel on Elston Turner or the players for that matter. So I dont know. I would rather Adelman decide then go from there in cases like this.
I think that he's happy with what he's doing right now. He would have already have been into coaching if he wanted to. As for JVG, I think that he's contempt to keep on doing what he is doing right now rather than get back into coaching.
With no all-star player its going to probably be someone new and young to take on the head coaching job for the rockets. But hiring Elston Turner could be the easiest route.
I like Elston, but I think Les will want to bring in a "name" coach who has head coaching experience from either college or the NBA. The again, I could be wrong. He did hire our current GM who had no previous experience. I voted for Mike Brown.
None of those guys is better than Turner. He runs the D for the Rockets. He would also presumably keep the same offensive system, the one that has the Rockets top 5 in the league with no franchise players. Best of all, you'd be giving a guy his chance and Les/Morey could lowball him on salary, as they're wont to do (great moneyball move). To me it's an obvious choice.
