What will DM do with him after this season? He signed a 3 year deal and he doesn't fit with this team anymore. He came here because he was going to back up Yao and be Rick's coach on the floor. But with Rick's future up in the air what will Morey do with Brad. He is a old guy on a young team that doesnt fit. Maybe Chicago wants him back I know he wants a chance to win a ring? Thoughts..
3rd year has a buy-out clause. So it's effectively a 2-year contract. It makes him an expiring next year, and a super-expiring in 2012(only $1 mil guaranteed but count as 5-6 mil in salary). Does it really matter that we have an extra $5 mil on the roster next year. It's not like we can get anyone special with that money.
I think the last year is a team option, so next year he will technically be an expiring contract. We can let him expire, or trade him as an expiring contract. Pugs
i know we cant get anyone right now or next year but if rick stays he will get playing time. i would like his mins to go to Hill or Thabeet to develop
I'm just pointing out that he's not on a 3 year contract. He can easily be traded in the offseason as a salary filler. Whether he gets playing time depends on how Thabeet and Hill develop in the off season. If Hill/Thabeet can't improve their games to the point where they're better than an old, hobbled Miller, then the Rockets should just give up. Btw, it's not Milller that's in the way of these guys getting playing time, it's CHUCK HAYES.
You can't blame Brad. He's been sucking for a while but who's the one that puts him in? and in front of Pat?
Package him with our 2nd round pick and see if any team bites! The guy at this point is just getting in the way of developing our young bigs(Pat, Hill & Thabeet).
he may be an expiring contract but he is still on the team. i would rather him not be on the team at all.. if hes in uniform that means theres a chance rick will put him in the game.. i hate seeing him at the scorers table...
Well, let's see. Can he pass? Yes (but he much prefers to drive himself). Can he score? Hell no. Can he shoot? Hell no. Can he play defense? HAHA no. Does he contribute to the team in any way? No, but he does average double-figures in the turnover category. Seriously? What is he good for? Veteran presence? Haha.
The only problem with him being here is that he takes mins away from Hill/Thabeet. Those guys are gonna need playing time if they are gonna become rotation players I think we will trade him to a contender (if adelman is gone) If not then Hill should be traded because its pointless to have him if he's not gonna play! But a team like LA could use another big man off the bench
Two words: Albatross Contract. I called this when he was signed and nobody wanted to believe it. Such a waste of a roster slot and cap space.
