44-74 from the field. I wonder when was the last time a team shot 60% and lost.

The Jazz let that game get away. Both Big Al and Milsap were on their game. Very bad loss for them. I kept expecting the Pistons to falter but they didn't. McGrady, Tayshaun and Ben Wallace were glued to the bench while Rip Hamilton wasn't even active.

I haven't followed Detroit at all, so I don't know what's going on over there save for that thread about them boys laughing when coach got booted. If only this happened before the trade deadline, maybe we could've gotten Prince in a trade and possibly Rip? I like the **** outta Rip.

Rip's contract is one of the five worst out there. No way anyone takes him.

And what is this thread without:

Off the top of my head, i see atleast 5 contracts worst than Rip hamiliton's, especially since Rips contract effectively ends after next season (last year is only partially guaranteed).

    Gilbert Arenas
    Joe Johnson
    Rashard Lewis
    Brandon Roy
    Antwan Jamison
    Rudy Gay
    Ben Gordon
    Al harrington

Thats just the names that come immediately to mind.

They lost because God hates Utah and even when they do everything right, they're still losers

9 million of it is guaranteed. That's still a lot, especially considering Rip can't do anything anymore and is acting like a moron these days. Gay's, Jamison's, and Gordon's contracts are all better than Rip's. Maybe not top 5 worst, but still really bad and not one any sane team should be wanting anytime soon.

Rip contract isnt that bad because he can still play at a high level. A bad contract is when a guy cant play anymore or injured or injury prone. Yao,Redd, and contracts like that were terrible until the last year because the guys were injured and cant play. If the Detroit ownership situation was resolved, Rip wouldve been a hornet. Someone later mentioned Rudy and Jamison. Those are not bad contracts to me because the guys produce at a high level. They are overpaid in a sense, but its not a bad contract. I can almost guarantee if Rudy Gay was made availible, alot of gms would trade for him.Especially a team that needs a 2nd type of offensive option and for the most part a maturing, durable, productive , young player.Jamison even with his age is still a very productive player. Dallas almost bit the carrot, but they didnt want to trade Roddy.

I find it funny that people still claim "no way anyone touches that contract". Has Rashard Lewis, Gilbert Arenas, and Baron Davis all being moved not change your mind?

Thats why I laugh at posters when they say we had to get rid of swift and his terrible contract. Swift had a mle deal which are the easiest contracts to trade. That was an easy excuse to trade Battier for gay and swift. Oh, we had to get rid of swifts terrible contract. After he wa traded from the rockets, he as traded about 2 or 3 more times

so you're saying, not only did the rockets know they could get more for the 8th pick but just didn't want to, but they also decided to purposely make it even worse by throwing in an easy to trade contract so that they could concoct a public cover story that it was actually a hard to trade contract to make the battier/gay part more palatable? come on, now.

yeah, he was traded one more time, for the epic jason collins who was averaging 1.4 ppg and 2.1 rpg for new jersey. and then a year later swift was cut and basically his career was over. clearly that contract had great value.
