Or we should just fire him. It's not like we are playing for anything right now anyway. I'd rather have a young enthusiastic coach that wants to play these guys finish the season.
lol so u saying we don't play anyone who is not up to hakeem's potential? also...why are you comparing thabeet with hakeem. guys like hakeem come once in a decade or so. guys like thabeet are raw and needs practice. this season is over. even if we do make the playoffs, it gonna be a first round exit. we need to give our young guys a chance to improve. what better than a no pressure games for them to experiment with new moves, new playstyles and new team mates. I am going to agree that thabeet is not very good right now, but IMO he has potential. Yes the grizz gave up on him, but having a change of scenary can do wonders for a guy. Especially if you can get him some quality minutes and good leadership. Guys like hayes, patpat and scola, who are always hustling and working hard, win or loose, on every possession will do wonders for a young kid like thabeet. so stop bring up hakeem. he is an all time great. not everyone will reach that status. just take what thabeet is. he is a young, raw athletic center who has the potential to be a good player for this organisation.
RA was hired as the type of coach that is good with vets and the post season. We lost our post season potential (Yao & McGrady). So now, some would have us fire RA and hire a coach good at development. OK, we develop. Then when we are playoff ready again, we fire him and get a RA back? I just cant see playing dominoes with coaches until your future is clear. Until then, stick with what you have and try to make adjustments. Yea, a great coach at developing players would be great right now. But for how long?
there is another stickied thread dedicated to this topic and i think someone just posted some links in there.
You guys do realize that Hasheem hasn't even been in Houston for 48 hours, right? And you also realize that the Rockets offense relies on going through the Center and PF at the high post... and that Memphis' offense was absolutely nothing like that, right? I understand you guys want to see Thabeet, but if Adelman throws him out there right now, it would be relatively impossible for him to be successful.
Point taken. However, it wouldnt hurt Rick to deviate from that type of offense for 8 or 10 minutes. Do we play that offense for 48 minutes anyway?
lol i like how battier, ab, and ish r still listed in the box score. at first, i was like, "why in the heck is our roster so freakin long" haha
