I'm currently attending HCC but next summer I'm looking to move out and get a place of my own. Heard from a good amount of friends that ACC is a good college. Hopefully finish up my second year there and move on to UT. Anyone taken courses there?
i did the same thing you are talking about - after graduating high school went to north harris community college for a couple years then moved up to austin and started going to acc. went there for another couple years before transferring to ut - i worked my way through college and some semesters took 6 or 9 hours, but yes, i did go to community college for 4 years! took me 6 years to graduate, but i got two degrees out of it. if i could have stayed at the rio grande campus all the way instead of going to ut i would have...loved it there!
Duke is really good as is UNC. But you should give Georgia Tech serious thought. They are new to the ACC but they are a damn good school.
ACCs programs are pretty good. did a history class If you want a super fun, campus like place to live, I would recommend WestCampus. Just curious, which ACC campus are you enrolling in?
I need a change of scenery from Houston. And I feel like going to school and getting an apartment in Austin could go a long ways towards maturing as a person. I've visited Austin a great deal recently and it seems like it would be a great city to live and grow up in at this time period in my life.
stay in west campus and go to the acc campus on 12th street near downtown. a ton of people i know bike to acc from west campus.
You should have specified what ACC you are talking about. Most people from this area think of Alvin Community College when they hear ACC. When I first read the post I was like WTF...you want to move from Houston to Alvin and transfer from HCC to ACC???
history at the rio grande campus - did you take purcell? he did all these specialty classes like history of the civil war, history of WWII, history of the old south. i think he was the best professor/instructor i had in my entire college career.
I registered for Spanish at ACC Rio Grande. After the first class, I dropped and enrolled in Spanish at UT. Much easier.
i transferred into ut w/ about 80 credit hours. they accepted almost all my community college credit. its was much, much, much easier to get into ut back in the 90's. there is no way in hell they would accept me now. my degree should really say "north harris/austin community college" instead of "university of texas".
