I like the way he handled this question. <object width="416" height="374" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="ep"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value="http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/.element/apps/cvp/3.0/swf/cnn_416x234_embed.swf?context=embed&videoId=bestoftv/2011/01/24/piers.osteen.homosexuality.cnn" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="http://i.cdn.turner.com/cnn/.element/apps/cvp/3.0/swf/cnn_416x234_embed.swf?context=embed&videoId=bestoftv/2011/01/24/piers.osteen.homosexuality.cnn" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="416" wmode="transparent" height="374"></embed></object>
I'm not sure he is against it, he seems accepting of it, but just says the scripture is against it. He says he does not understand the issue enough to judge anyone on their decision which is probably a good response
basically love the sinner hate the sin. osteen: 'it's clearly written in the scripture' no it isnt. it's extremely vague. the word 'homosexual' shouldn't even be in the bible given that it wasnt used until the late 1800's in a medical pamplet written in German. Teh bible was written, allegedly, some 2000 years before that. sup D&D.
I disagree with him theologically, but it's nice to see someone who I disagree with who isn't homophobic.
I think you mean 'a calculated' response. 7 million viewers....thats a lot of people($) to not piss off.
Only watched the first part, but essentially saying yes homosexuality is a sin but only one of very many, so it would be a mistake to single it out as special.
Don't judge. Focus on the positive, and encourage people whether holy or sinner to live by the Bible.
It's a one way street, that Hershey Highway. Off to the D&D with this junk. KEEP THE HANGOUT STEWWWWWWPEDDDDDDD
I haven't read the bible, but is it not possible that 'homosexual' had a different term used for it in the older versions? I think in old English they used to say "man layeth with another man" or something like that.
Joel Olsteen is definitely "smooth" His wife is a moron. Can't say I understand (or agree with) his viewpoint, but it was as well articulated a don't piss off anyone answer as he could have done.
i don't like the way he handled the question at all. not every human follows the scripture that he follows. me personally on homosexuality: People are gay. get over it.
Additionally, there is a lot of weird and creepy stuff "clearly written in scripture" that "Christians" regularly ignore. D&D ahoy!
The Brit was prying for something controversial, but Joel was smarter than that.. I would have answer that I believe it's something spiritual; I don't expect others to believe or understand that, but that's what I think. Next question please..
