The PH Towers is where the word "RAINSTORM" is. It's not where it's pointing, but where the word is located. So if you're staying there, you have to go down to the lobby and you're at the mall, walk 7 minutes inside the mall and you're at the casino.

I stayed at the Planet Hollywood (not the Westgate Towers) last year and had a nice view from my window:

The room was nicely appointed, has a nice LCD big TV, nice bathroom, original movie memorabilia (Titanic for me, different for every room), nice bed. Problems were that the window was very small and the walls were thin. I've stayed at a suite in the PHo years ago and it was bigger, nicer, and oddly shaped. I have not personally stayed at the Westgate Tower, but considering that's it's new (PHo original is kind of an aging property), I'd think it's better. The space is definitely bigger.

No, I originally was going to stay through the holidays and for the bowls, conventions, and playoffs, but I had to come back to Houston. I'll be back in the desert for March Madness and then hopefully all through the WSOP. Have a good time tinman.

I donated blood here and they were giving away tickets to Penn & Teller. It was a pretty good show. I'd recommend it (although it's over at the Rio...which has a great buffet).

The Cirque Shows are awesome. You cant go wrong with "O" or "Le Reve" (technically not a Cirque show but its from the same producer as "O") at the Wynn.
"KA" is also amazing and has more a story than the two I mentioned above. If you never been to a cirque show before the original Mystere is also decent and a lot cheaper if you are budget conscious. It's jut not as amazing as the others. Love(Beatles) is fun if you like the Beatles might be more for the Beatles generation. And the one at NYNY Zumanity is just a lot of fun. If you are going with a girl/date I would recommend checking Zumanity. Its just a good time with a lot of laughs.

I want to see either "O" or "KA". Is it better to purchase tickets in advance (at whatever discount I can find now) or wait until I actually get to Vegas? I'm assuming these shows usually sell out so won't be able to find them at those 50% off vendors.

I believe it's hard to find O at discount, you can find KA discounted. I saw KA and enjoyed it, but I heard O was the best show.

What does everyone think is the best comedy show in vegas? I'm working there for 3 weeks, but I'd prefer to watch comedy (I've seen Mystere, thought it was cool, but I'd prefer a laugh),

Thanks for all the great Vegas first-timer info from Kim and others.

We went with the Monte Carlo for 3 nights thru a current promo that Southwest is running on their vacation packages. The price for airfare and hotel was pretty decent for a 4 star hotel, plus the promo gives 2 free tickets to several Cirque shows (not "O" but Ka is in there). And as a final kicker, they knocked off $50 too.

I'm going to MMS in March and it's hosted at Mandalay Bay. Thursday the wife is flying out and we will move to the Wynn. Looking forward to it quite a bit!

Just booked 'O' at a discount (section 204 for $73). Call up the box office through Bellagio and see if they can help you out. I was on the phone for about 1.5 hours while the guy was walking me through the entire theater and helping me decide which seat to get. I was pretty much set on the balcony and that's when he offered to see if his supervisor was willing to give some seats up for a discount.

Rate starts at $20/night and free bottle of booze, 2 night minimum. You can always book separate reservations if you want more booze.

    Imperial Palace

Probably get what you pay for (I've never been there), but when you're in Vegas, how long are you in your hotel? As long as you have a place to sleep and shower.
